Brief fishing adventure with my friend from Indiana. We visit Sauvie Island, Oregon, USA in hope of catching a carp using the ground fishing method. I lived just south of Warm Springs, in Madras, and fished this river many, many days and never caught anything larger than 10 inches.
Back in the 70's I used to camp down Beavertail way, once put out a sizeable grass fire some locals started on the 4th of July w/ fireworks. Had it out by the time the helicopter came. Using my Alaska firefighting experience w/ the BLM. Had a little 50's Aljo 16'-0" which my wife and I did a lot of fishing out of. Lots of Chukar too...we ate pretty well there. The big Deschutes was always my favorite, it was good to us.
