Celebrating eighty years of life and a sixty year career, Brazilian legend Marcos Valle announces the lead single “Life Is What It Is”, from his forthcoming album Túnel Acústico.
Composed in late seventies LA alongside Laudir De Oliveria from the band Chicago, “Life Is What It Is” was first released on Chicago's Chicago 13 album, with lyrics by Robert Lamb.
Over four decades later, Marcos Valle looks back at his good times on the West Coast, recording his own version of “Life Is What It Is” for his new album Túnel Acústico. Valle’s new version ups the tempo and deepens the groove for a blast of irresistible summer soul.
Amongst a host of other songs bringing together the sounds and spirit of Valle’s astounding career, Túnel Acústico also features “Feels So Good”: Valle’s long lost collaboration with soul icon and producer extraordinaire Leon Ware - also written in late seventies LA.
“Life Is What It Is” releases as a digital single on 25th July 2024, before the full vinyl, CD, cassette and digital release of Túnel Acústico on the 20th September 2024, via Far Out Recordings.
