It still works!!! Things were built to last back then because they knew people did not have money to waste. Quality products made from quality materials designed and made by people who actually gave a shit. 😳 I sound vintage myself. Hahaha
How much and how can I buy one?
I dated a vintage fridge once (I like em older), but she just kept ignoring me all the time and giving me the cold shoulder. We ultimately broke up :(
Not much content, much talking
Not much intelligence, much need for flashing cartoon animations and sound effects
thanks for this one i debate it all the time my 1954 gm frigidaire runs super quiet and pennies to opperate amazing how well its made
I had a model 54 with the 2 speed transmission in 1959. I traded my 1957 Western Auto Deluxe bike for it and $20. It was a great tough little scooter. I sold it to a friend when I bought my first car in 1963.
I have a Fridge with the same handles but its only one door with another door inside for the freezer. The freezer Door gasket needs replaced but I can only find gaskets for the main door, any leads?

There's one of these in the kitchen of the famous Frank Lloyd Wright Fallingwater house. Honestly have never seen one before that point.
Thanks for mentioning to just go heavy on the resin to get it in there well. Most guys leave that part out.
We’ve regressed tremendously in house hold appliances
I want this!
Thank you! We were looking through old photos and couldn’t remember or identify this refrigerator 💕
Mate !
You better have your canned soda, but there’s no spot for my fosters

An Pop😮
Redo this video guy .. the "tsk" sound you regularly do is far from professional and a turn off in the sales department. Write a script, practice it in front of a camera. THEN make your video. You are welcome.
LOL like I have time to practice in front of a mirror. Thanks for the production tips Spielberg
The curved window is top of the line made !IMPO you can't tell it's not even real glass . PERFECTION The guy in TEXAS did a Fantastic Job on it . Not only did he do a Fantastic Job on the curved window but I bet you could even restore the glass if it got cloudy like a headlight does JS incase you ever have a need to do that . 😉Looks Great Glad you thought of a seat belt for the little one & the wife on that bench seat 🤗
My worry is the dangerous latch. Should a kid get locked inside, no way out.
I like a lot of the modern fridges available today, but there’s no beating the quirky boldness of the designs from the 40s and 50s. They are just so interesting.
Any resources to find service manuals for 50's era servel Lp fridges?

The holy grail
Do you sell these babies? How much would a rebuild/retrofit cost?
Subsidiary*
Thank you? Man I can’t imagine trying to police this kind of stuff all over CZcams. Must be hard
I got 2 in the basement. International harvester chest freezer from 1952 and a fridge. Cane with my house still running til this day. I think I defrosted the freezer once in the 24 years that Ive been here. It doesnt build up bad at all. Seals are still good.
I just found your site (looking for a way to rejuvenate hardened rubber seal) and will subscribe! I found (for free) a beautiful 50's single door Kelvinator, which I cleaned and had a good "robin's egg" blue seal... I met a guy while out and about, we chatted and he was looking for a garage/beer fridge... I've got the one yer' looking for... ..his name was Kelvin (I kid you not) and the rest is history....
I need to finds the blue seal as well. Where did you find yours? TYI
@@maggiemcgeelong3185 Hi, the blue seal was the original seal (still soft and pliable)... I don't think it's available in aftermarket seals...?
Back in the 60's, My parents had a GE (No shelves on the door) Refrigerator that looked like the refrigerator on the I Love Lucy Show. The Only thing it needed replacement for was the Cord. And a latch handle (Never got that). That refrigerator was still working even after my Dad passed in 1995. They might have aquired it the late 1950's. It last a Long time! They don't make them like they use to. 😊
I have a 62 and it is truly one of the coolest trailers I've ever seen. The kitchen is teal and everything is original. It's bigger than this but I don't remember the length. My plan was to fix it up but I ended up with a medical emergency that halted everything. So I know I should sell it...but like yours it's unlike any of the others. And much nicer than Airstream in my opinion. Thank you for sharing. It's incredible ❤
I’m looking for a antique bottom freezer with the lazy Susan, do you have any for sale?
Do you sell any of those?

Great video, thank you for posting it, this was very informative.
Thank you so much for posting this video. So few videos out there of people with multiple old fridges. I love them.
I want your fridges - oh and your dog too ! What a great happy dog. Oh a FOOD-A-ROMA !!!!!!! I want one !!
Pretty sure he means General Electric not General Motors lol
I definitely meant General Motors. Frigidaire was a division of the car company. Thanks for the arrogant nonsense
Where are you located!!! ? And do you sell these

We have a ‘46 GE refrigerator that looks similar to the black and red one you show in this. It has been in my wife’s family since new. We use it in the garage for drinks and it keeps them very cold. Only thing it’s required is occasional cleaning of the condenser and oiling the condenser fan motor. I need to rewire it in the near future, have the shelves rechromed and strip the layer of brown paint off without damaging the original finish underneath, hopefully. Someone decided to repaint it at one point in its lifetime. Also need to determine the type of door seal to get to replace the foam seal my father in law applied to the door. Plan on keeping it running to pass on to the next generation.
This is my dream fridge. My dream stove is a Magic Chef 6300 8 burner. And drop all this in a 1930's ish craftsman kitchen.
Beautiful fridge !
I have that exact fridge you show that does not have shelves on the door
Thanks for making video..
Call me crazy, but I love restored classic refrigerators as much as I do restored classic cars.
Brother thank you for making this video. I highly appreciate your effort and time.
makes all new refigerators look so boring awesome just to look at and will last so much longer then a new one
As soon as I see a man with cartoons permanently drawn on arms I know he's an idiot.
Ironic, as I would say the same about someone that feels the need to comment so strongly on the internet about a strangers thoughts on art.
@@Vintage55Restorations There's NO irony whatsoever. Get a dictionary.
I have a 1953 Philco (very similar to the model you showed in this video) and the model # ends with an "LH" - I've noticed that mine opens with a left hand swing, which most of all I've seen online all open with the hinges on the right side. How often were doors opening a certain direction?
How much more common right handed people are than left is about the ratio :)
New to vintage refrigerator's, just acquired a 1954 GE combo with the lazy Susan shelves that still runs but needs some work to get it back to being beautiful so thank you for the videos and I look forward to learning how to restore and take care of this awesome "vintage" machine from you. Cheers.
A classmate in high school had one. He and I were going to fly model airplanes, but first he had to deliver the afternoon newspapers. I rode on the back of a series 50 while he drove and tossed folded papers on Saint Simons Island in the late 1950's. Another classmate had one of those also. They were very cool, dependable, and probably economical to own. But I would never take one on an Atlanta highway. Probably would be illegal to do so anyway. Even major streets are not safe.
Haha I’m from Atlanta and I ride mine down Moreland and Glenwood all the time.
Where do i find vin # please help cant find
I've been looking for a seal for a chest freezer. Ge with accessories compartment on right side and temperature control on right front side. Am I gonna be able to find a new seal for that? Do they make universal ones that work? Searching it shows it's a 50s or 40s model but I don't know. Do they put model numbers on these ?

Just listened to complete video now. Get the right caps on that rig and it will make a world of difference. You got '73-'87's . The correct ones are stainless chrome---much classier. Yea man ---has it's possibilities , good luck!!!!!
Do you sell parts ?
