i keep coming back to this video, maybe once every few months, sometimes multiple times a day. barry was one of a kind and we're all so lucky that he was so dedicated to sharing what he found
RIP
One of my favourite male jazz vocalists. ❤ First came across him on the songs he recorded with Miles Davis and Gil Evans. Nobody sounds like him. RIP.
Gokkksss
Beautiful....as I sit here working remotely🤣
Nice Version, Good Show. Feel the Music.
Great chemistry, tight group. All great musicians.
🎉
They add elegance to that pop tune as only true artists can!!! Christian is so skilled and mature for such a relatively young artist.
Divisões envenenadas, afinação divina e repertório perfeito. Naõ tem como não ser fã.
❤
TAMIR JOUE DOUCEMENT ET AVEC ALLEGRESSE!!! FÉLICITATIONS POUR LE TRIO ET LA VIDEO !!!
so insane
This is amazing
❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
in 1998 john riley told me that stewart "Practiced" his licks..I had no understanding, now hearing this, I understand it!
what a stupid title a stupid video here on you tube very misleading
RIP DS... All I heard after that was that David Sanborn interviewed Pat Metheny.... I'm finding that podcast episode!
Seconding the reference to the extraordinary "Night Music" series - I like to think that those three years made Sanborn a better saxophonist & musician - just by playing next to Wayne Shorter, Sonny Rollins, John Zorn... all his albums prior to the Hal Willner-produced "Another Hand" were fun and enjoyable, but everything he released after that took his R&B-influenced sound to a much higher level (and beyond), and I cherish those.
i was able to see david in concert with james taylor and then again in a small club where he signed my" taking off" album and my son's mouthpiece.he was one of a kind.he was like coltrane when he played u knew it was him.the first time I heard him was on a rock station k-rock he played on a joe beck album and the song was starfire. it was the best solo i ever heard and i had to find out who he was so i brought the album.after that i brought most of his albums and other performers albums where he was featured.when my son told me i was heartbroken and had a tear in my eye.
You can catch some episodes of Sunday Night, later named Michelob Presents Night Music, is a late-night television show which waired for two seasons between 1988 and 1990 as a showcase for jazz and eclectic musical artists. It was hosted by Jools Holland and David Sanborn, and featured Marcus Miller as musical director.
Legend, RIP!
"All I need is you" my favorite DS song. ❤️
Lovely touch at the piano. Thank you.
Wow,Didn’t know Liz sounded this good, I met T.L.Carrington at the Rockville Jazz Festival,She was so nice talking to me and my 12 year old son 🎤🎶
The more I listen to Wrembel the more I love it.
PaQMan extraordinaire !!!
Cardenas @21:00 reminds me so much of Jim Hall…
His tone…. His… tone… His feel, time, groove, phrasing… all are superlative. But his tone… I can hear one note and know it’s him, on ANY of his axes…
I don't understand why I'm drawn to Stacey's voice. I just am.
Beautiful. Listening to this over and over. I really like jazz trios. I call them the “Holy Trinity of Jazz”. Simple: pianist, bass, and percussion. You can wrap your head around this with no confusion. Great ensemble!
I like what she did at 1:52 to 1:55. Whats the technical term for that?
Quelle musicalité et quel son, bravo !
Wonderful as alway's❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful!
Lovely tonal expression and uncomplicated melodic improvisation
I've been enjoying Tamir's playing for quite a while along with Jeff Hamilton on drums. He sounds just great here as well and swings like crazy.
Just beautiful.
so much sauce....
Damn...
TWO YEARS AGO??
Rest in Peace sir. I'd moved to NYC late 70's and listened to WRVR incessantly and what an education. One evening walking to work we saw Stanley Jordan busking on Bleecker and ran to get our boss, Paul Colby from the Bitter End (Other then) to come and hear this kid! We set up a showcase and invited Mr. Crocker, who I felt I knew from listening to his show so often. He came down, caught Stanley's set and the rest the proverbial 'they' say is His Story! What a career and what a wonderful person 🥰
I get goosebumps every time I hear this.
The music is Jazz, the jazz is the music.
Samora Pinderhughes is criminally underrated. Imagine a Samora Pinderhughes x Nicolas Jaar collab.
And the key change to Gb! Killing
Utterly sensational.
The tonal quality/sound of tom’s guitar tone is perfect.
WOW! This version
Omg I saw these guys at NJ Pac about 3 years ago...magical music in the small club upstairs...One of my greatest musical memories on planet earth
Two superstars. Where's the piano? (low in the mix at times)
