DIY BUDGET BUILD. - Odin gets an Upgrade.
zhlédnutí 1KPřed 21 dnem
In this video I take you along as I create a little slice of jungle for my young Carpet Python Odin. I too often see snakes in enclosures too small riding on the back of excuses like "I am saving up for their forever home". Total cost of this build was $200. By shopping on Marketplace and putting in the work you too can provide enrichment and more space to your animals. NO MORE EXCUSES.

very cool!
Very nice! What mix you use to build background?
Dude I hope your channel absolutely blows up! Quite genuinely some inspirational work, nicely done! The silicone straight into the substrate to mould over the pipework is GENIUS, and I will 100% be doing that at some point!
@@riddlerreptiles thanks brother , I really need to put more effort into it tbh. The silicone trick is something that I picked up from some of the Asian channels that make amazing terrariums and it is seriously game changing and WAY more durable.
@@CopperheadCustoms yeah in my most recent build I tried using modelling clay over wire, and then painting it.. it was ok, but this looks 1000x better, for sure. Keep up the good work bro 👊
Was wondering why you didnt have any followers. i get it now. beautiful work, annoying music.
Nice work as usual
Thanks for the kind words mate,
Work of art brother!
Thanks brother, I appreciate it.
Cracker of a build mate
Thanks mate much appreciated
How tall is your enclosure?
Hi does the deep heat project give off any light?
There is a slight glow from the heat coil but it's not enough lumens that it w9uld be considered visible light.
Thanx for the detailed video brother
Nice video! How do you control each of the different lights though? does each light have its own thermostat?
Very nice assessment. You hit the main key which is to observe, learn and know your animals. All my snakes are thriving and actively basking with the UVB, halogen and DHP combo that I currently use. It's summertime now and nighttime is allowing me to dial down the DHP's. I much prefer them over CHE's and RHP's for the exact reasons you mentioned. Those units are basically just space heaters that only warm the air.
I think if you are in a super cold climate or have an animal that it very sensitive that a heat panel can be a good way to control the temp of both the warm end and the cool end but again its ambient heat not basking heat, I'm actually considering increasing the ambient room temp in order to use lower wattage bulbs
Who bred this jungle ? Chasing a female for my boy looks very similar.
Who bred this jungle fella
You might get some trouble if the substrate is less than 15/20 cm deep, and also, if you want to plant a boston fern you are going to need more light
I think all the talk is mainly about people using deep heat as their only heat source and using it for far to long, you way is probably the best way to utilise them
I'm going to do a more in depth vid about how when and why I use them I think. There are alot of situations that don't get talked about.
Gorgeous. Thank you.
Man she is one beautiful snake
Look forward to it mate I saw early this morning that you were on
Good stuff
Thanks mate
Very nice. Keep us updated on the plants that do well. Cheers
Will do!
Another incredible habitat mate! Absolute beauty.
Thankyou!
How often do you feed your snakes?
It depends alot on age, I talk about it on the animals at home podcast episode that was released a few weeks ago. This girl in particular get a feed every 4-5 weeks depending on the size of the feed.
@@CopperheadCustoms Okay thanks i feed my boa more or less the same except this winter that I am trying to brumate it and I was worried that maybe it was power feeding . Sorry for my English .
@@juanlugarciamorato5177 how big and what age? I don't have any experience with boa but if they are anything like Python which I think they probably are, their metabolisms are truly incredible, my 25yo Carpet Python eat an xl rat once every 3 months and hold great condition year round.
He is around a 1,10 m and 2 and a half year's old , I also suppose that they are similar but I have been searching information about there metabolism I don't find any research.
Great job, looks amazing! 🤘💯🦎🐍🐢🐸🌱
Thanks mate
No I love you
I love nature!
I enjoyed this.
Thankyou I appreciate it, I will be doing more mini Documentation of how the setup progresses and the habits of the animal within as time goes on so stay tuned.
@@CopperheadCustoms please make the videos over 10 minutes so you get some adverstising monies from CZcams also allow comments and get people to hit the like button. I also enjoyed the transcript once I found it maybe set subtitles to on. Cheers
@@neilwhitelaw3844 thanks for the tips I'll work on it
