Lexus LX570 Landcruiser Hatch Light Mod - STEDI LED Light (5700K) - Easy Installation Video!
This is one of the cheapest modification I've done on my 2015 Lexus LX570 but the most satisfying one! I often use my tailgate when I go camping and I alway wished to have a light on the hatch when left opened. I used to use a magnetic light bar but it often fell off while going off-roading or I often forget to recharge its battery so I decided to hardwire a hatch light that can be turned ON and OFF, or it will automatically turn itself OFF when the hatch closes or it turns itself ON when the hatch opens.
I decided to go with the STEDI LED surface rock light (5700K) as I am a fan of their product for its quality and price point. The STEDI light is also slimmer compared to other similar products. You can purchase the STEDI light and their products at overlandgarage.ca where I got mine!
The ON/OFF LED push button switch was purchased from Amazon which I will put the link below. I decided to go with the white LED switch but you can choose different colours (eg. red, blue, etc) for the LED switch.
The STEDI light is super bright and it doesn't seem to consume too much battery. I highly recommend to have this modification done as it is super easy and quick to do.

ARB Twin Compressor Installation on a 2015 Lexus LX570 using the Slee Off-Road Bracket.
zhlédnutí 419Před 3 měsíci
I decided to install my portable ARB Twin Compressor in the engine bay because I was tired of making sure that it would be the last item to be packed after a camping trip so I can air up once I come out onto the road. The instruction provided by Slee Off-Road is straight forward and easy to follow but I decided to make a video to further assist with anyone who is going to install the ARB Twin C...

I took three friends on their first backpacking trip to Elfin Lakes which is located in the Garibaldi Provincial Park, east of Squamish, British Columbia, Canada. The weather was nice when we started hiking but it began to rain once we got all set up at Elfin Lakes Campground. Unfortunately, it rained all night so we could not hangout outside and enjoy the stars but at least we all got a nice s...

Welcome to my channel! (@myhappyadventures ) After some consideration, I decided to keep my stock bumper instead of getting a steel bumper and use the "Trail Taylor" Hidden Winch Mount to install my recently purchased WARN Zeon 10-S Platinum Winch. I also had to purchase a control box relocation kit to relocate the control box to a different location inside the engine bay. I wanted it to be eas...
Camping in the Rain: Best Time Ever..

I went on a weekend camping trip with bunch of close friends in heavy rain. It was lot of work trying to set up, and later taking it down, but we had such a good time eating, drinking, laughing, singing, and dancing. We had amazing food and lot of booze to keep us busy all night eating and drinking, except when the water level started to rise quicker than expected. After discussion, half of us ...

We decided to camp at a location that none of us went before so we followed Googles' direction and of course it was not the right way. We went through at least 11 big washouts before realizing that it was the wrong way as it was blocked by a large boulder. One of our friend's Jeep Liberty got stuck on a fallen tree trunk and we could not pull it out with a tow rope or a winch. Luckily, I had a ...

Lot of people take their kayaks to camp at Granite Falls. I had the luxury of taking a boat and a Seadoo to camp here with few of my friends. We had one person to look after the Seadoo and the boat for the low tide in the morning, except that self-claimed "morning person" never woke up in the morning. Luckily, we had other people who could help us lift the Seadoo back into the water.

Back in May of 2023, I travelled all the way to Japan from Canada to purchase the new Snow Peak TTA components for my IGT system. One of my favourite places to go backpacking. A four-wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended to reach the trailhead to Watersprite Lake. It is about 16.9km round trip with elevation gain of 704m. Reservations are required to camp here and there are only 20 tent pads available.

Nice set up on your LX Gotta love those Icon rims. What year is your LX ? I just started a build on (white) 2011. Might copy yours😂
Nice! My LX is 2015.. Yeah I like my Icon wheels.. except they are all scratched up from off-roading 😅 I have 33’s on it and got an extra Icon rim for the spare.. I had to come up with a solution to feed the supporting chain through the centre hole.. Let me know if you are getting an extra rim for the spare and I’ll post how I was able to feed the chain and supporting plate for the spare! 🙂
Kudos for getting out there and using your LX👏
Thank you! Trying to get the most out of this LX!
Your rig got some battle damage but that should help you plan for your next upgrades. A lift will help and probably high clearance bumpers. I would also invest in some undercarriage armor. Great video though... enjoyes watching it.
Yes! 😬 I live in a condo apartment so I can’t lift any higher unless I give up my roof top tent.. So my next upgrade will be high clearance bumpers and some rock sliders.. and eventually some undercarriage plates.. 😬 Thanks for watching! Hopefully I can post my next video soon!
@@myhappyadventures Personally I would upgrade my under carriage armor before high clearance bumpers. Your oil pan, differentials and especially your transfer case need protection especially if you're planning on hitting trails with obstacles that can get you into high center situations or just high obstacles. Look forward to your adventures 👍
@@itsaboutfam Yes! I agree.. Will need to slowly upgrade as I go along on my next adventures 😬
Nice video and nice camping spot.
Thanks.. 😊 One of my first video as a tester haha.. Hopefully my next ones will be better!
Nice!!!
Thank you! 😊
OEM bumpers and sidesteps are just there to be eventually replaced; or trim them and DIY patch the cracks and use the saved cash for gas and vacation time -- it's no big deal. Also, people who actually use their SUVs for outdoor fun appreciate the functional rigs that look like they get used over mall queens. People who don't care about outdoors don't care about what condition your SUV is in anyway. Finally, the people who judge you by your vehicle in general are not the people whose opinion you should care about.
I totally agree with you! Using the LX for what it is built for! Yeah… I don’t mind the cracks anymore… I damaged the running boards few months ago too lol For now.. I’m just enjoying the outdoor like you said and they will eventually get replaced at some point.. 😬
Looks like aton of fun, good times, stay safe!
Thank you! 😆
Which T taps did you get from Amazon? Your link has a few listed, so I want to pick the right ones. Thanks!!
It would be the T tap 2 pin one: amzn.to/3U0KaaF This link should direct you to the right one..! Good luck!! 🙂
@@myhappyadventuresthanks for the video! The hardest part was getting my hand into the hatch to access the switch!
@@madisonreb4964 haha.. yes.. that is the hardest part of this install.. 😂
Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. sub & 👍14
Thank you so much 😊
Time for a new bumper. I got a descent off road. It would have cleared that no problem
Yeah.. The descent offroad bumpers are awesome! 😎 Gotta stop spending money on other things to get the new bumper 😬
Just a quick question are you having any trouble with the PCS after installing that grill? min e is and its the only think i can think of.
Hello. I have no issues with the PCS system after installing the grille.. Everything seems to be working fine 🙂
Hey the soundtrack is really annoying and destructing. Lets hear these beasts rumble and growl in the jungle. Sorry much as i love offroading and 4x4 channels am not gonna subscribe to your channel. Very annoying
Thanks for the tip 🙂
what size tires/rims do you have?
33” tires with 17” rims 🙂

What where your spotters doing?
Watch me crack my bumper 😂
are your vector 5’s in satin black or titanium ?? really hard to decipher
Mine are satin black 😬 I may have some photos of my instagram.. Check it out 🙂
파우더 미쳤네요...

Check out NST Spec’s small body lifts for the LX and then the OEM bumpers can be trimmed to give a little better approach & departure angles 👌🏼 Looked like a beautiful area to wheel in
I’ll check it out! Thanks for the tips! 🙂

more videos please ! this is the cleanest LX570 build i've seen online. icon vector 5 wheels, some beefy AT's, and prinsu. looks real nice! i'm picking up my '14 LX570 this week in black and i am so excited.
That’s awesome! I guess I’ll have to post more videos soon 😆 Another LX owner! That’s awesome! Really excited for you!!
This is awesome, thanks for making the video! I’ve been wondering what the easiest way to do this is!
You welcome! I hope it helps! 😆
beautiful build, what is your wheel size and offset.
Thank you. My tire size is 33. Rim Size: 17x8.50" / Offset: 25mm / Bore: 110.10mm

@@myhappyadventures Did you have the hydraulic suspension raised to max high? I recently had mine flushed and it goes up and down much faster now.
@@silentvoiceinthedark5665 yes.. I had it on HIGH.. Also.. the washouts were lot deeper and narrow than what it looks on the video 🥲
AWESOME
Thanks 🤗
Never take a truck off road if you are not prepared to break something. Especially with no rock sliders or skid plates. The LX is a great truck, but it has vulnerabilities when stock. You are lucky you didn’t bounce the transfer case off of a rock. It is made out of Aluminum and can crack easily. That roof top tent is putting a lot of weight on the rear suspension as well. If you are going to continue off roading like this you need to invest in some basic protection.
Rear steel bumper and rock sliders are on the way! 😆
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
😬
Great video 🎉
Thank you!
🙌🙌🙌🙌
😬
What tire size are those? 🎉
285/70/R17 or 33s 🙂
@@myhappyadventures surprised the 285s fill out the tire well nicely. Honestly didn’t think 285s were big enough. I’ve been looking into 295s or 35s
@@citizenpark2782 Yeah.. I wanted to avoid any further trimming besides the mudflaps and also keep the AHC.. for now.. 😅
@@myhappyadventures #fighting! Did u adjust the AHC sensors?

Thank you for sharing your video, i have a 2013 LX570 and thinking about getting this one.

Where can I buy this?! It's awesome!
‘DM’ me on Instagram 😊
That's just plastic, cut it off or just heat weld it back together... either way be mindfull of your cardinal angles... approach, departure, breakover and youll be A OK! 😊
Another excuse to get a steel bumper 😂
