The crossing is not abandoned. Bowes is having major money problems since the local councils pulled the funding. They also have volunteer problems. As far as I know the crossing is still fully working and controlled from the crossing cabin in the video.
In this age of entitled & selfish driving, I’ll stick up for the driver here; either way you’d have disagreed with their actions regarding going through it or stopping.I drive rigids & they wouldn’t have been able to stop like that. The fact you’ve reported it as well lads, disappointing.

Is it just me, the light at the crossing come on dangerously late about 7 seconds before the train arrives plus no barriers ? 🤔👍🚄
