I was low on fuel and the car started to "hiccup" in the carousel. I lost drive and the green Targa passed me going into the kink. Turned out, it didn't matter too much.

F6/F7 on Tampa Bay for the SPSA (Saint Petersburg Sailing Association) Spring series. Cold temps and a fresh breeze were on offer, but the Florida Sunshine kept us a little it warmer and lifted spirits

It might of been a bomb cyclone up north, but we got a fresh breeze and cool weather for races 3 and 4. Winds were F6/F7 with gusts just over 30kts. The Bene's 100% jib was a bit too much at times, having me wish for a proper #4 or storm jib. We all rounded up at one time or another!

@@Enicefield Thanks for your positive comment. The boat is a wing keel, and I probably hit 6kts in this video. I have another short video of us racing downwind in some pretty big air and boat surfed up to 8kts. @@Enicefield goprotelemetryextractor.com/telemetry-overlay-gps-video-sensors It's pretty easy to use with the right camera, but a total pain in the neck with the GoPro 360. I had to buy the telemetry extractor to "pull" the gps data from the 360 files and then overlay it on the video.

Look at the early evasive maneuver by the captain as the boat in front rounds up. It comes up quick !

Why didn't drop the traveler? It's on the wrong side. In my opinion: Never leave the winch handle on the self-tailing winch. You never now what will happen next and if you have to loos the sheet fast, you have a problem...
If it’s blowing hard enough to reef, maybe drop the traveler?
