Im not an expert as such so hopefully others can add their opion as well. If you miking an acoustic guitar I suspect purists will say use an acoustic guitar amplifier, but for singing as well and for practice and small audiences I think the Samson Expression is superb. It has bass and treble controls. I dont know whether you would want to add echo to your voice but I have recently acquired a Bose S1 Pro which in my city is the buskers' choice and it delivers both power and quality for acoustic instruments and vocals when using the right mic. .

No!

I can see the heart (pith) from both sides and there is no apparant rot. I think it needs air for that. I think the misting is a chemical reaction and it is spread across the annual rings. I am going to skim the slice on my CNC machine and apply new epoxy. If I did the experiement again I would look at ways of partially drying out the wood before applying. It is a miracle the epoxy resin bonded to wet wood! The misting only increased recently.

The reason the nails wandered is they tend to follow the grain configuration.

Yes, you're absolutely correct. But having the gun perpendicular still helps. For some reason the nails are more prone to blow out sideways to the gun. Have a test, 20 nails with the gun in both directions.

I know that. I was on the show to have the opportunity to educate people. The experts did not know what wood it is made from and thought it was a rare wood. I should have said well watch the other channel 'Come dancing' as the floor is made of Canadian maple. They sell memorabilia on this show. You mention Habitat type outlet so I presume you mean IKEA. There is no way such an intricate cabinet could compete in production costs with China, Indonesia etc that make IKEA furniture. I was invited to show this piece but they did not mention it was one of four I ever made, the first one being auctioned at Sotheybys and sod to the richest man in the worl (Art collection)! My early rocking chairs sold for £40 and made from pine and sold for £40 in the mid 1970s are asking £2,000 - £5000 in galleries in the UK and in Europe! I was advised to pitch at the price I did by an ex Habitat chief salesman friend and expected to come down to £4,000. My furniture students who are completely unknown would sell for at least £4,000 but it was the wromng show, thdy never sell modern work. It always acquires value in some later era.

Hi Robert. Kind of you. I owe it to my saxophone player friend who I am performing with as he is really very good and in a different league to me as a musician. Although he will be doing most of the solo at our Bath festival performance, I still need to be able to do the chords And a fill-in solo. But there are so many chords to remember it reminds me of how difficult some people find it to learn woodworking which I can do blindfolded!

Strange comment. I have checked the sound with headphones which pick up any interference. Very slight hiss in places but certainly no buzzing. Maybe its your end. Best unsubscribing then if it really was that unwatchable! I spend a lot of time filming and editing these free videos. Same external mic used as in most of my videos and no complaints.

158 views (not a lot) and 12 likes at time of your criticism is about my average these days and no other mention of too poor to watch. Im sorry its about a car project on a woodworking channel but sorry mate thats who I am ! I share ideas asnd vast experience. The ideas should be more important than 4K quality.

Oh dear Jeremy, there is no need for your terse replies, I thought we knew one another better than that. I enjoy watching your videos on various subjects, I've followed this thread from the start. I don`t think the problem is my end, all other CZcams videos by other people play without this buzz or hiss, your other videos bar one are fine. I've watched this one on my phone, tablet, laptop and tv and the buzz is there on all formats. You've contacted me in the past asking my opinion on what your CZcams content should be so I'm quite surprised with your reaction to my constructive criticism. By the way one of your other videos also has a background buzz or hiss which someone else also commented on. Take note of what your subscribers are saying or put your head back in the sand, its up to you. Take care.🙂 PS you are asking what to name this series in order to attract viewers, poor quality sound isn`t going to help.

Hello Andy, thanks for linking in. I think you contacted me before. Please feel free to add comments as your experience/knowledge is valuable on this project. One thing I noticed is that since I separated the rear section as a lift off rear end, it has probably released stresses in the monocoque body and alingning the drivers side gullwing door is a nightmare, not to mention the Mini Mk 1 bonnret catches. I wish I could find a better door opening/closing mechanism!

@@Rwjudy48 Thanks Robert. 'Marathon Kitcar Rebuild' is descriptive but will it attract viewers who by and large want immediate results? Also there is a strong design/improvement element to this project that makes it unique. It is not purely a Restoration but and enhancement. Hardly anybody knows the marque Raffo Belva and the thumbnail caption has to be attention grabbing. I want to establish a consistent thumbnail design which I can then retrofit to the previous 16 episodes and use the title on the video to say what the video focuses on.

Eco mode is deceptive whereas first gear is descriptive. In fact the main benefit of the mode 1 (first gear) is starting from standstill on a hill: it pulls away gently rather then snatching or even rolling back which is dangerous in traffic on a hill. Supermoco agent tells me it makes little difference economy wise whether you use 2nd or 3rd gear. In 3rd gear you dont have to belt it all the time. What effects economy (battery performance) are hills and fast acceleration.

Calling first gear 'eco' mode is deceptive whereas first gear is descriptive. First gear (or mode) has a maximum speed around 15mph, 2nd gear around 20 mph and 3rd gear 27 mph. If the first mode has less power then its obvious it wont go as fast as 3rd gear (mode). On a hill, starting in 3rd gear snatches and can result in rolling back and can be dangerous in my experience. Economy (battery mileage range) can be obtained in 3rd gear providecd you don't use the acceleration. The UK SupSoco agent tell me there is little difference between 2nd and 3rd gear (modes) regarding economy and I have compared battery life myself and find little difference. It is the hills that whack the battery and demand the use of gears (modes).

I have spent a lot of time making this video and sharing my experiment. You seem to be demanding a quick fix answer to your crazy question. If you watch the video you can see the experiment is going AGAINST nature in trapping the moisture by incapsulation. If you want to release the moisture it has to be done gradually and I have already answered another commenter about this. Putting the wood into a fire is far too extreme. Please go and read up about natural air drying of wood and at least try to understand how Nature works. Nature usually has the upper hand. I have also made follow up videos and how my experiment looks several years on.

Good question. It would be better to allow some of the moisture to evaporate and before shakes occur (so keep it out of the sun. On my experiment some misting has appeared after a few yearts which indicates moisture trying to escape. See my follow up video. Freshly cut would could be 60% moisture content, wheread wood allowed to dry comes down to about 25%. I would say try stacking the clices under cover but where air can circulate and if you can get hold of a moisture meter, montor it over a week or so. Its too late when the shakes appear!
