Random Hot Take: Ash's Unovan Rival should've been Iris.

I don't think this is quite as bad as the Elesa battle, that episode is genuinely painful with how in-your-face it is about Ash's stupidity. But I agree, this battle makes him seem incredibly weak with how many freebies he was thrown. It really feels like in BW they wanted to write a new protagonist entirely. DP definitely seemed like it was preparing to be a potential finale for the character (and tbh, in a lot of ways it was).

I'm not a huge fan of this fight either, but I think it works a little better if you start looking at Koffing as around the level of Pikachu, or Tyson's Meowth. Ash probably could have won the 3v3 if he had brought Pikachu, Pignite, and Krokorok and played well.

Sam is so unlikeable in this episode. Every time she says “it’s not garbage!” I just want to punch her in the face.

I’m honestly more bothered by how much of a complete brat Ash is in this saga. It’s the only real problem I have with Gen 5’s anime.

A problem with some Ash's teams are their typings Unova is big stand out due to having 2 water ground and grass types with kalos and journeys also doing that which for kalos is understandable due thier limit to share for cast but journeys vould give some diversity.

I mean as a Unova fan, I see people all this the best unova gym battle.. It makes me proud cause poison is my fav type, this is my fav anime.. I get people hatet he unova anime.. but .. let's be honest.. the fandom ruins the thing with underrated and overrated

Man, BW sure nerfed the heck out of Ash, didn’t it? The gym battles with Cress and Elesa, giving Ash a six on three in his battle with Roxie, Trip (basically a Dollar Tree version of Paul), losing to a trainer who only brought five Pokemon in a Pokemon League. Roxie is one of my favorite gym leaders as well. And while I’m glad they made her a strong trainer, it came at the cost of Ash’s experience. Great video btw!

Ash could've easily beaten Roxie with Palpitoad or Krokorok.

This is one of the funnier episodes for me not just because of the surface level jokes but because of how it satirizes religion. Squidward is portrayed as the “angry atheist” in contrast to the subservient and exclusionary SpongeBob and Patrick. It’s not just thought provoking but absolutely hilarious when watching in that context. It’s especially obvious when you hear the characters say clear phrases Christians and Non-Religious might say: “Once a -Christian- member always a member” “Maybe he’s not a -real- brother -of Christ”- “As if the answer to all your problems will fall right out of the sky!” (Speaks for itself)

I honestly thought that the developers of this game had some weird fetishes which were portrayed by the boss fights. The armadillo and puffer fish being tortured by electricution to the head, not to mention the armadillo has a phallic nose. The dragon looking like a pedo as well as the jack in the box beating up on Diddy and the girl Kong. Beating up K Rool's toes O_o. The only normal boss (that was not really normal) was King Kut Out.

Playing the bongos for the ice maze will stop the ice maze from moving! Also I'm very sure that there was meant to be a Strong Kong barrel for that area that was forgotten to be added in, which is evidenced by all the crystal coconuts in that area.

Hard disagree placing K.Rool second. That felt like the epic conclusion to the game. All Kongs using all their moves. Never felt like it took too long. However, I will admit your final choice is my second favorite. So we aren't that far apart.

I just finished this game with the achievements. It's currently my favorite game too, simply fantastic and charismatic

I really thought bubble bass was a great as a one off character but now they’ve just used them so much to the point. Where is a main character now I feel like he’s replaced Larry as a main character, which is quite ironic considering bubble bass is fat and Larry is you know.

Ngl: King Cut Out shouldn't have been that high imo. Otherwise most of these placements I agree with.

Wish more people knew about this phenomenal show. The acting was exceptional, particularly from Colin Morgan and Bradley James. Their performances were unfailingly honest and real (those two had you laughing one minute and crying the next).
