It is physically impossible to not to bawl your eyes out at this scene.
Something tells me that John recognized Ray as his son instantly. Which is why I think he was looking at him for such a while before walking over. Though I feel like he introduced himself as John, not knowing if he would be fully accepted by Ray. Especially after everything that happened between them. Almost to say as well, if you won’t accept me, at least I got to see my son one last time. Which is another reason why I think he looks at Karin for a good while as well. When Ray addresses him as Das he doesn’t question it or ask anything, he looks back and accepts a game of catch with his son.
when movies were good... made a person reflect on life... teared up...
Gets me every time My dad was a big baseball fan and he was from Iowa taught me to love the game
My Dad recently passed this past June, and was a lifelong Yankees fan. I never really loved baseball, but I played because of my Dad’s passion for the sport. We would watch this when I was a kid, and watching this now I finally realize why people get so emotional at the end. Man what I wouldn’t give for one more catch with my Dad…I miss you 🤍🕊️

Old school baseball was something alot of these guys had regular jobs in the off season
Is it even possible to watch this entire scene while keeping a straight face, and not crying?
I remember watching this on VHS in 1988 during a class in high school... out of nowhere the teacher said we are going to watch a movie over the next two days... had nothing to do with the class, she just liked it so much and wanted to share it with anybody who hadn't already seen it... classic!
This movie just puts me to tears with goosebumps. Play catch with your dad.
I cry every time seeing this. My dad passed 4 years ago now at the young age of 52. We used to play catch everyday up until my high school days. I can’t help but think of my dad. He was a great man and an even better father.
What i would do to throw catch with my Dad or just walk in the woods with him again..wont lie...im crying 😂😢
I watched bill since i was 7 yrs old my brother played on the san diego County allstar team with bill 1969 70 , you know bill was even hurt in high school, but he played hard all the time, i hope the doubters got to see what i seen, at 80 % bill was better than most, and was a complete player, RIP BILL WALTON , HELIX HIGH CHAMPS, UCLA CHAMPS, PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS CHAMPS , BOSTON CELTICS CHAMPS, BUT MOST OF ALL A LIFE CHAMP

This olympic record will not be broken for like 50 years more
The way things are, he may be the only American to win an Olympic 10k gold.

That jump was like something out of looney tunes. I swear, if he hadn't looked down, he'd still be in the air. Just incredible.
No wayyyyyy out 😁
I saw this at a theater with a girl I had just started dating. When this scence started I could tell guys around me were getting a little emotional then when he ask his dad to have a catch a few of us men were trying not to show the tears, myself included llol.Love this movie.
In my opinion the 76ers BARKLEY was better than the Suns BARKLEY. Just like the #8 Kobe was better than the #24 Kobe.
Greatest moment in track & field history... PERIOD.
Message sent the bulls will embarras the magic come playoff time
Omg its similar to if Trump read the headline😂😂😂
The coldest thing is on almost every one of those plays Jordan was f o u l e d but didn't complain and there's one on the other end and play defense
Of course it is a fantastic athletic feat. But Why Bob Beamon could not jump close to this world record after this event, unlike other athletes like Sergey Bubka, Usain Bolt, Duplantis who break their own world record? I am curious
That scene always made me laugh.
The FBI would be thete do quick to take that land.
jesse and ralph metcalf were replacements of jewish-american runners marty glickman and sam stoller in the 4 X 400 relay, the last-minute decision made by the u.s. track team. jews were banned from the german team, the holocaust well under way. hitler used the games as pro-nazi propaganda, including the friendship of owens and long, along with the friendship of joe louis and max schmeling as cover for the atrocities being committed. the holocaust had been under way for 3 years, germany was awarded the '36 olympics in 1931, before hitler forced his way into power. there was a u.s movement to boycott the '36 olympics but avery brundage, (not a friend of jewish people) rallied support for a vote to send a team. as late as 1936 brundage called jewish activists advocating for a boycott as "misguided jews". catholics were also pushing for the boycott.
My former husband cried during this movie when it first came out. I didn't get it then. But now, I do.
I saw that jump live on swedish television. The commentator didn’t believe his eyes when the result was presented. Neither did I.
The Floyd Peters comment makes me say sports are great. His humility is very nice, but his apreciation and honest recognition of excelence is what's really beautiful. His short quote really sums up the video. Sayers was really hard to tackel, and tackeling him was always a big accomplishment for the defense. So Mr. Peters shoul also rightly be proud of his perserverence.
HE DESERVED GOLD 🥇 ⚡ CZcams COMMUNITY GUIDELINES 📺 1968 🇲🇽
What's even more amazing is he got up out of the jump and back on his feet. Total craziness.
Exelente me encanta ese deporte
