PS Waverley is the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world. Built on the Clyde in 1947 - to replace the original Waverley that sunk off Dunkirk in 1940, the Waverley was originally built to sail only between Craigendorran & Arrochar in West Scotland. 2003 saw the completion of a major restoration project, which returned Waverley to the original 1940s style with which she was built.
Magnificently restored with towering funnels, timber decks, gleaming varnish and brass. See and hear the mighty engines - they will provide a whiff of nostalgia for some but are sure to impress all!

Waverley Drydock Appeal 2023 Launch Video
Waverley's General Manager, Paul Semple, gives details on the Dry Dock Appeal 2023 which has been launched to urgently raise funds to enable the ship to be dry docked and returned to service in 2023.
An appeal target of £180,000 has been set with £35,000 already donated towards this.
Donations can be made online at waverleyexcursions.co.uk or by calling 0141 243 2224.
All those who donate can opt to be recorded on a virtual donor wall. Those who donate by 1st March 2023 will be entered into a draw to win a place to visit Waverley in dry dock.

One of the most beautiful ships sailing the seas and at 75 still going strong against the odds.
Awe no sound twice on the video - but what a trimendous video it is, hope the Waverley continues to sail the waters of the British Isles (you always get a great sail on her)
Some paddle steamers still run in Bangladesh rivers mainly for tourists . Some were built around the 1920's. One of them was used during Queen Elizabeth's visit there.
