    Statistical Fact: This track is the longest library track William Granville Chapman wrote for a library music label, clocking in at 4 minutes and 20 seconds. The shortest track he made was an arrangement of Handel's "Grand Entrance" written under his real name for De Wolfe on DW 2711, clocking in at 16 seconds.

    This track has a similar melody to George Elliot's "Cordon Bleu" from Harmonic, and I quite like that. =)

    Harry Sosnik - - from many Victor records of the 1930's, then musical director at Decca, later being Ernie Kovacs' musical director in the '50s for TV, and then an arranged/composed music cue like this one is something else entirely - - fascinating.

  • @wilkinsthelibrarymusicfan

    Fun Fact: There's also a version where Torch himself conducts his own piece with the Queen's Hall Light Orchestra on Columbia Records - D.B.2456.

  • @wilkinsthelibrarymusicfan

    Statistical Fact: "Japanese Carnival" from the same composer and same record was the last track to have the Bosworth Orchestra credited until King Palmer's "Studies In Happiness" suite from BCV 1346, not counting re-issues of older shellac Bosworth 78s, though for newer Bosworth Orchestra credited tracks, the orchestra was likely conducted by Heinz Buchold. If one counts re-issues of older shellacs, then "Rotary Press" by Lew Vincent (AKA "Lunch Date") from BCV 1318 was the first track to use the Bosworth Orchestra credit, though originally, it was played by Louis Voss and his Orchestra.

    I really wish that the Sam Fox and Hi-Q music libraries could be restored. Carlin and Warner Chappell Music. One of my favorite composers from the Hi-Q library was Phil Green, aka Philip Green. I listened to one of his cues and used his tracks in my series, even the dramatic cues and shorts. It's a shame that 40% of his music is lost. I would really love it if somebody could release a copy of the track called "Agitato Mechanical" or "Light Agitato," but it seems like no one has a copy, not even on eBay. The records are priced at $59 and $49, which is a pain in the Ass!

      I understand. Those Capitols are not usually known for being cheap or easy to find... =(

    • @wilkinsthelibrarymusicfan
      @wilkinsthelibrarymusicfan Před 23 dny

      Specifically for me, the Capitols I'm hunting for are missing LPs with Synchro-Fox cues. Some records with tracks listed under the SF letter code have either KPM or Harmonic cues, but I'm mainly looking for records with missing Fox cues.

    • @evanschad1006
      @evanschad1006 Před 23 dny

      The Capitols I'm much more interested in are the ones that were either completely revised with new content, or removed entirely from the catalogue. The Omar ("MR"), OK Library and a few other composers like Henry Russell ("R"/"HM") and an unknown composer with the initials "TI" are among the many removed libraries from the Capitol Hi-Q catalog, and I wonder if there are any others we don't know about.

  • @wilkinsthelibrarymusicfan

    By the way, the original length for this cue was 1:29.

    Robert Way also had his own music library for a while, Siri Music, which was active in the 60s and 70s, and distributed two libraries called Amfed and Norco for which I have no info on beyond the fact listings in Business Screen mention them, and one of them was Robert Way's music, and the other consisted of compositions written by Sam Spence and his wife, Friedl. They also distributed the Sonoton library for a while.
