I know. My band is going to BOA in San Antonio for 2024 and we are going to get destroyed. We are from New Mexico, we are the best in our city, and one of the best in the state but we are nothing compared to Texas bands. I’m scared 😬

@@ZacharyJohnson-kw9tgDon’t be! I went to Cedar Ridge myself in 2015 but it isn’t so much about the placement or scores, it is all about enjoying the moment. Your band has the opportunity to go out of state to show what you guys can do and that is awesome! I wish your band luck and to have fun! Be sure to enjoy the experience because it is amazing.

⁠@@noneyascrub8204 I know, I’m just saying that I’m scared because we normally make finals so I am nervous about the bands and my reaction if we don’t. I am excited, scared, nervous, and anxious for this competition as I think it is my school’s band’s first time going to a competition this big. But my band director did say that even if we don’t make finals we are going to stay and watch the rest of the competition, which I am excited for because we will pretty much have the full experience (even if we’re no longer competing) and we will finally get to see all these amazing bands in person. But thank you for reminding me that it is all about having fun. 👍🏻

@@Evanw10282the thing is, that goes into scoring tho. They are judged on not only the cleanliness but the CONSISTENCY of the cleanliness. If they had many bad moments but many good ones, then that should I affect their score.

No one gives a hoot about your hairstyle or your facial expressions, or the fact that you think you can cheat the system by hiding poor marching by not wearing hats. Wear the hats.

CTJ plays loud. It’s almost their signature thing. Because of this, they can be very splatty at times and can have minor issues. Along with this they have some individual issues that add up and their drill has always had the tendency to not be as clean as other groups(they struggle with vertical alignment for some reason).

Hey thanks bro I performed in that show. Freshman trumpet btw. Last performance of the season and it was really sad. I just want to give my regards out to you be cause it was painful. What’s even funnier was at the end Mr. White said this and I quote, “There’s a saying in music performances, SHIT HAPPENS!” He deliberately said this after the performance. Such a great band director

@@erikagg7792 (senior electronics for Reagan 22) pretty much what happened was that we couldn’t get any of our sound effects and electronics/Mics to go through the speakers properly, which is why they were static and we couldn’t use our preshow, which is a audio file meaning we had to start the show at a different set, and it took forever😭

I think vocal solos are more common in marching arts than you think
