Why is Shorthorn not an option in the dropdown for beef breeds?
Totally missing out how the American (Bates type) Shorthorn was rescued by massive infusions of Sittyton &Aberdeenshire type Shorthorns in the 1860s and onwards.....the Teeswater/ Durham type were long dead.....

They like the Hereford and Beefmaster are good gentle cattle that don't get near the recognition they deserve.
My ancestors the Anderson's emigrated to Illinois and Nebraska in 1850's with a beast "Miss Wylies Knight", they got it from the Vane-Tempest Durham Shorthorns famous for the "Durham Ox" from County Durham, N.E England. I wondered if it is recorded in pedigree records?.
