Check and make sure your typing the command correctly curl -L yttv.batocera.pro | bash also make sure your Batocera machine is connected to the internet mine disconnects by itself all the time!

Anything you download from google on Batocera should go into userdata/system/downloads Check in that location for your downloads

This happened to me before I ended up changing my password on screenscraperer then changing it on my Batocera system and it started working again

@matrox1233 Destroy everything. From batocera you can, at minimum, format and erase any drive. However, I believe batocera can do ntfs formatted drives, which Windows uses. So unless your drive is encrypted, I also get full read/write access to all your files. If you want to check if a script is trying to do something funny to your other os', look for calls to /dev/sd<letter> and /dev/nvme<number>n<number> Batocera, and linux in general, represent nearly all connected storage devices as files in this format in /dev/. Everything batocera needs should already be mounted, so any script touching these is grnerally a major red flag.

mindless fear mongering. typing a curl script from batocera pro isn't going to nuke or compromise your system.

I would reinstall just triple check the install option your clicking the makers of this add on have changed it. Look for an installation choice that says stable or latest.

Can you try the drive on another computer to confirm it won’t boot ?

@@KevsBatoceraBuilds yes I tried ,with laptop but it’s also can not be booted,I have a mini pc Chuwi and batocera was installed on external disc,unfortunately after update it stop working

You need to boot into a fresh batocera or another Linux computer and make a copy of your save partition of the batocera external drive that won’t boot then reinstall batocera onto it and copy your share partition back over. Its not to complicated but it is a little time consuming

most of them delete the launch script in /userdata/roms/ports and the corresponding folder in /userdata/system/pro -- that's for simple programs. Docker stuff is more complicated, and the arch container has an uninstall tool.

chrome AppImage requires libcups.so.2 which is missing in batocera (update 2024/08/01), as a workaround I just installed Firefox instead of Chrome, which launches fine

You need to go to the settings Properties\Compatibility and check the compatibility box Then a couple of packages from steam will be downloaded and then all the games will be available for installation

I haven’t tried them yet! I’ll see if there is any performance difference and let you know!

pcsx2 just released v2.0.2 stable and it's way better than the 1.6 version that comes in the regular version of batocera. the good thing about the pro versions of pcsx2 and rpcs3 is they get constant updates. Everytime I Iaunch rpcs3 in F1>applications there is a new update. I definitely recommend them over the official versions from batocera

@@MyChannel-vm6dw yea just put the sd card (you may need an adapter/dongle) into the pc and boot Batocera. The steam deck build will work on pc and laptop and vise versa !

Firefox is not based on chromium. I will add though, they are paid big money by google to make google the default search engine in firefox. Librewolf and floorp would be more private than default firefox.

Firefox is just about the only browser that isn't based on chromium. the best browser to use UBO with cuz it doesn't use manifestV3 that breaks a lot of ad blocking extensions

At some point around the halfway mark of the video I say something similar about not understanding how a lot of it would be used! Some of the stuff is super useful though, especially for people who know and love batocera and just want to add a little extra or something new!

I've seen people on the batocera discord request casaos and jellyfin server. Some people want to use 1 machine for multiple purposes. "Should not be" is subjective.

​@@Nodsterthe way i see it, batocera is becoming more of an OS alternative to the ultra spyware windows instead of a basic linux distro. You can have a batocera usb drive doing whatever you need cuz its that much versatile. You dont need to use and abuse all the options, but having the options available is fcking great.

@@SilverTester This seems like a lot of hoops to jump through to achieve what can be done in less steps with another distro that is more general purpose or more gaming centric + everyday use. Batocera was clearly designed with one purpose in mind and outside of adding basic stuff like music player, web browser, video player etc this just seems little square peg round hole really. outside of 3 people who is really going to require Docker and Portainer on an OS designed for retro gaming when there are better options available? As I said stuff like a video player I get it but everything else is somewhat illogical really. I guess people are going to go above and beyond because they can :D Also F Windows, that did not even enter the equation because Batocera does retro gaming better anyway.

Can u please help me. Do u know how to disable bd prochot in batocera? I use throttlestop in Windows but don't know how to do it on batocera.?My lenovo m720q usff + T1000 gpu doesn't work properly in batocera. The cpu speed drops down to 800mhz due to having a gpu. Thanks

I've tried this but it only works for Batocera x86_64...meaning pc and not raspberry
