This is a fascinating work. A lot of general Christianity's belief in hell and the afterlife seem to be highly influenced by books like The Book of Enoch, which probably can't be divorced from the influence of the religion of the ancient Romans and Greeks. One has to extrapolate quite a bit to pull together the current belief systems of many Christian churches, which seem more related to the ancient pagan religions than it does anything actually found in Scripture. Though not accepted as canon there seems to be a use of the ideas found in the book of Enoch, to act as an interpretive lense expanding the culture and tradition of the church, where the Bible itself remains often vague. There is a culture and tradition that has grown out of the presence of the book of Enoch. Historically these traditions seem to have been used for manipulatation and abuse by those in power. Especially when it became convenient for the sake of selling of indulgences and the purchasing of souls from purgatory. By then the tradition of hell was well established. This hell, in this form isn't actually found in the scriptures. It's an amalgamation of tradition, misuse of ancient works, like the Book of Enoch, and a misinterpretation of Scripture.

I actually like videos like this because it shows how to believe in magical things like souls or the afterlife or the supernatural in general, all you have are anecdotes and feelings. And once you realize that, you've already quit believing. Because you realize you have no good reason to believe. Because no anecdote or feeling could ever serve as sufficient evidence to warrant belief in such fantastical nonsense.
