10 Most UNUSUAL Tourist Attractions in Sweden
You can find a lot of amazing things to see in Sweden, from the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi, to the Vasa Museum in Stockholm, to the viking village of Birka on Björkö. But there's also a lot of...strange tourist attractions. This is a list of the 10 most unusual tourist attractions you can find in Sweden!

The places shown in this video includes:
- Sweden Solar System, a 950 km scale model of the solar system. This is the world's largest model of the solar system, and it covers an incredibly huge area - so it makes for an interesting scavenger hunt and road trip.
- The car cemetery at Kyrkö mosse in Ryd. Hundreds of old cars are rusting away out in the woods in this old car cemetery. What will become of it? Will it become an open-air museum? Or will the cars just rust away? Who knows...
- Treehotel in Harads, 50 km south of the Arctic Circle, is a collection of completely unique cabins where you can spend the night inside gorgeous and thought-provoking structures like the Dragonfly or the Mirror Cube. Or a UFO.
- Arnold's Cannibal Museum in Önneköp is a fascinating place, owned by a fascinating man. Seeing all the items that Arnold has collected during his trips is just half the joy of being there - the other half is hearing him tell stories of his adventures.
- Kolarbyn Eco Lodge outside of Skinnskatteberg is Sweden's most primitive hostel. No electricity, no running water, and you sleep in earthen huts - just like our ancestors used to do when producing charcoal out in the woods.
- Ales stenar in Kåsaberga is Sweden's biggest stone ship. What's a stone ship? It's a Vendel or Viking age structure that had symbolic or ceremonial meaning (no one really knows for sure), and it's an amazing sight to see.
- High Chaparral in Värnamo is a wild west theme park. In Sweden. That's been there since 1966. It's unexpected just how huge and built up this park is - and you can clearly tell that it was a passion project by one man.
- Nimis and the micronation of Ladonia can be found at Mölle. It's an enormous driftwood sculpture created by the now deseased artist Lars Vilks. The place is fascinating - and the story behind it is just as interesting as well.
- Borgvattnet Rectory in Borgvattnet is Sweden's most haunted house. Yeah. That pretty much says it all doesn't it! The fun thing is that you can spend the night there.
- The world's only permanent James Bond museum can be found in the town of Nybro, and it's owned by a man called...James Bond. This museum is absolutely amazing - and also quite unusual!

    Back in the mid 80s I used to go to Stockholm regularly on business with a couple of colleagues - we never waited in line to go into a club or restaurant but would walk right up to the front of the line and say "Good evening" and go straight in - this worked every time.

    I'm Swedish and have a hard time understanding the excitement over MAX. Better than McDonald's? Sure, but most buger chains are. McDonald's is successful because they're cheap, easily accessible, convient and family friendly. In Sweden, the prime contender to MAX, as well as McDonald's, is Burger King. Just like elsewhere, they're a bit more expensive than McDonald's, but in my experience especially grown ups tend to prefer their burgers. Of course, the stuff BK do can't be compared to what burger lovers consider to be the 'real deal', but at least they use 100% pure beef in their patties. MAX does not. I felt there was something fishy with Max even before I found out on this. Max uses a lot of fillers in their patties. Max sell what we in Sweden call 'pannbiffar'.

    • @ThreeStarVagabond
      @ThreeStarVagabond Před dnem

      For me, I actually like Max quite a bit despite the meat content! But I agree that BK also is very nice. I think the fries are better at BK, but if I want to get a milkshake I prefer Max. Just the burger...then it's almost a toss-up between Max and BK for me. I'll just go to the one that's closest :D

I hope they find you and use your content as well. Otherwise people still confuse between Sweden and Switzerland. Sweden has more attraction but very underrated due to lack of knowledge. I don't think there is a field for graveyard of cars has become a museum or an art piece is at war with San Marino. Kolarbyn is like an ancient Faraday cage for digital isolation. Sweden offers a whole uniqueness where you can not find another place around the world. I think you deserve more attraction from officials. Thank you so much your adventures and have a great day. PS. If that happens, I'll be sure to thank you for the inspiration :D And thank you for checking out the video! Oh, but wait a Faraday cage in Kolarbyn? That would imply a metal mesh right? But I think I get what you mean - it's a metaphorical Faraday cage forcing you away from all the luxuries. Speaking of which, I actually stayed in a similar place in the US, close to Death Valley - there was no electricity, no running water, just a tent. I could probably survive in Kolarbyn too if I stayed the night... Haha yes! They really should have Wendy's and all other American fast food chains there.
