I lived there as a child 50 years ago. My dad was stationed there. We lived on N Street.

In my town people have found reptiles in the trash dumpster out back that were still alive at petsmart in se ohio and I had a worker tell me they sold me a chameleon they knew was sick and impacted I spent 600 bucks on a vet vist for him and he passed 3 day later after owning him for like a 18 days and he never had his eyes open the whole time I was force feeding him. Petsmart told me they would replace him and I went off that's not the point they should not be selling stuff they can't take care of. I'm not a animal activist but the reptile trade is messed up on how their lives don't matter compared to other animals like cats dogs and birds. And FYI after everything they wouldn't do anything cuz it was past the 14 days and tried to say it was bad husbandry which is a flat out lie on their part multiple employees told me they had just put him out when I showed up cuz he was in the back sickly when they got him from the breeder.

That's actually not too bad of a weight for a sub-adult ball python to be. He's a little underweight, but not as bad as some that you'll see there.

I also experienced first hand a WALMART EMPLOYEE put ANTI-FREEZE in water conditioner for aquariums and he made me kill over $400 worth of fish! Because he hates himself and his job and fish! But should I hold WALMART accountable? NO! JUST HIM!

Not all petco's are bad. Where I live they take PRIDE in the animals they sell, so much so that they WILL NOT take them unless they can PROPERLY accommodate them safely. Amazing staff and I'll always fully support them. My local petco ONLY gets animals from LOCAL BREEDERS. People need to stop acting like its the entire company when it was just a taste test of establishments and single handed crooks using petco as a front for THEIR crimes, NOT PETCOS. They were supporting ANIMAL BREEDING MILLS/PEOPLE "THEY" PERSONALLY KNEW!

Do not buy pets from petco or pet smart They are mass bred Think puppy mills but for reptiles

I het petco it’s not even in my country but it’s fucking animal abuse

Hate on these companies all you want - chances are they’re all well warranted opinions. But employees at pets mart and petco often care about animals a lot and do their best to keep them healthy. I’ve never seen issues with the fish, birds or reptiles at my local stores.

I got my baby at pet smart he was in good condition, there was an employee there who had a ball python of her own and knew how to care for them
