Where’d you get the fresh stylus from? Can you just use a generic needle or do you need something proprietary?
You can get a new stylus. It’s usually not a problem to find the right one. Just look close at the cartridge to see what model number, then you can find a replacement from a vendor such as turntableneedles.Com.
Thanks for making this video. I happen to buy this same exact one at a yard sale today. Can you share with me how you serviced it to make the crackling go away when you adjust the knobs? Is there an electronic spray I can buy?
Yes, I use Deoxit 5 to clean and lubricate all of my potentiometers, sliders, and switches.
My dad bought me the same model in green around 1968 or 69. Loved that system, a friend of my dad did a headphone jack modification to improve and located jack on front top panel. Many hours listing to tha unit thru the 80’s. Wish I still had it.
This one was in horrible condition when I got it. I disassembled all of the mechanicals and put it back together with fresh lubrication. Then put in a new stylus. Then cleaned all of the potentiometers for a clean sound. I finished up with a thorough cleaning that took a couple hours by itself. I was very pleased with the results.
