Eldkvarn - Det började för länge sen...
It's called overdubbing.
It's sad thinking of where he is right now. Also, based on his personality in a lot of videos I watch of him I bet being married to him was difficult.
I got Les Paul guitars and Stingray cars and I'm pretty good at making racket.🤠
this is why i write songs on you tube😅
I think this is the most funniest thing I ever saw, fantastic. xD
Raw talent that will never be replicated.
Les...
Mary quite attractive and beautiful voice
Wow. Never saw this pre everything
This recording is gem. Thanks for posting.
Les Paul was a pioneer in multi-trac recording and used reverb and echo to his advantage.
And that's how he invented the multi-track recording... amazing
Mary Ford was so beautiful
Ja det ar en udda uppsättning - eldkvarn och dansbandsdansanter! Snart kommer väl jonglerande elefanter in!
Gibson Les Paul the only legit signature guitar.
26 tracks. The first "wall of sound." Les Paul taught Steve Miller how to play a guitar. Apparently the families knew one another and were friends.
25 years ago i was playing guitar into a radio shack desk dictation mini microphone plugged into my windows desktop that had "wave recorder" - a simple one track recording program to record simple 60 sec clips. You could add on 60 second at a time to make it longer , like if you needed to do a song.( id add on enough erxtra 60 sec chunks til i thought id have enough for my whole song to fit then trim off 2 secs at a time.. then in the drop down menu there was a feature that let you blend to files together after they were recorded....BUT for music it wouldn't be in time unless you started recording with the same exact dead air before the music starts...by trial and error i would add on dead air 2 seconds at a time to which ever track suited it best to get the two to be lined up right. i would record myself listening to the original first rhythm guitar and play a lead guitar part over it and save the file as "Solo for song XYZ" ...then id open the file "Rhythm track for song XYZ" and go to the drop menu and select blend with existing file and pick "Solo for XYZ " and they'd be imposed over each other but not lined up in time like a multitrack music recorder would do....id have to cut and add time to the beginning until trial and error finally resulted with the two files playing in time. I was 16 it was 2002 didn't know I could have just used a Free multi track recording program like "Audacity" hahaha. I feel like this process is similar to how Les Paul invented multi track...he used what he had - along with mental powers manipulating things tat were not meant to be used in that way, in order to achieve something new.
this demo seems staged? he played the melody...but there was no headphones or backing track when he demoed the melody on stage...then suddenly theres a full track...seems they faked it for TV sake.
ok now that i got halfway i feel silly for asking...they just said its faked haha
Oh dear
So glad people get to see and hear Les, he made it possible for all of us. Such a great player and inventor and Mary was actually a pretty good guitarist herself! ✌️😎🎸🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
Man I'd live a pair of those vintage cans.
Can someone explain to me why everything had to be “comedic” in American television from those years? It’s like, why was everything supposed to be funny? I see great guitar players from that era doing crazy little jumps and weird faces, why?
Many of us could explain it, but you would just continue to complain. Sounds like you have a personal problem. Peace
My God, imagine having this level of talent and craft, and then to have people accuse you of faking it... and then respond with such humour. Well done the host for putting those people straight.
It's happening today with an incredible singer from Kazakhstan named Dimash.
It always irks me when I see all of the ignorants sobbering all over Les Paul like he single handedly invented the recording industry. He did not invent the solid-body electric guitar, overdubbing, multi-tracking, half-speed recording, or slapback echo. Everyone interested in the true fair and balanced Les Paul story, warts and all, should read "Les Paul; An amercian Original", by Mary Shaughnessy.
Les Paul was from the future. He got stuck in the past, used what was available and invented modern recording techniques.
Invents the solid body guitar and multi track recording. Kind of a genius.
Les Paul was sooooo ahead of his time! What an awesome and talented guitarist and inventor!!! What a great and legendary husband and wife duo!!!
Les cheated if you watch closely he didn,t actually play it was all recorded for the show , but of course he was a legend ! I wish I had that les Paul model it would be worth a fortune !!!
It's obviously a joke.
A-men!
Can you imagine how much that Les Paul is worth today.
My god how is it he is not mentioned more as a guitar virtuoso and her for her vocals.. those two together perfection . My highest show of respect to them both….🤘
HUGE RESPECT!!! 😬 love it!!!
Underbart, Eldkvarn som dansorkester 🕺💃
Am i wrong or does he have huge hands!!
This is a Breath taking video and he loves her so much as well!
Certain CZcamsrs in 2022-23: "Too many artists today play with backing tracks for live shows." Les Paul, 1953: ""Here's a machine I invented where you can make your own backing tracks live and for records.... ....I'm just kidding. I created the entire concept!""
15 million records in 3 years. Who T F does that?
Gokil 👍👍
From this, czcams.com/video/gC1gq9vNkFk/video.html ... this video "Les Paul shows his guitar omnibus" was in 1954
3:37 "Hallelujah chorus" - Handel's Messiah
The first Omnibus broadcast was November 1952 and if, as Mr Cooke said, that his is the 3rd show, then this would have been broadcast before the end of 1952
0:42 - 049 "..in august 2020, you'd be lucky and you'd be mighty healthy..."
Seriously, Les Paul created the ideal guitar.
Primitive pedal, bigger than my Fridge!!
Yep. There's a good reason why his name is on that guitar!
Cool stuff..Host is a bit of a Dick though.
If Bioshock was real, this would be the people in it.
I cant find an accolade high enough to describe the brilliance of Les and Mary.
What would electric guitar be like without Les? I can't imagine it..I don't want to live in that parallel universe...!!
