I think something wrong with bending your knees too far to the front. You should teach on the back first. That way you will see the boy having the knees out of the water which is wrong.

The name of the stroke is "Breaststroke", it's not named after a city in France and you teach "to", not "for". I'm not trolling, it is simply that the use of poor English doesn't engender much confidence in the message.

Memang ada 2 versi untuk gerakan kaki renang gaya dada/gaya katak.
These drills are great drills to use but your having the kids legs bend down to bring up there heels is totally wrong. There knees should not drop that low and their knees need to stay together. The kid will not get disqualified for the breastroke kick your teaching but it will be a really hard habit to fix later on. I cannot tell you how many highschool and older kids I have worked with have this problem because they were taught this way in the beginning. Check out some videos of Olympic swimmers doing the kick watch their knees and feet. Heels come to hips then feet will rotate out and then the soles of the feet will catch the water and push it till legs come together and are fully extended.
I saw it different a lot. and I hope I could challenge the masters there for a duel if there's chance...
This is nothing close to traditional jkd. i dont know why all these modified versions of "JKD" have come out. It's hard to find real instructors in america anyway. Alot of your movements were really telegraphic. and for gods sake keep your hands up no good instructor would have you training with your hands basically at your sides.

If you weren't supposed to draw your feet forward, and you were supposed to bend at the waist instead, then image how this would look on your back. Your knees and feet would be out of the water during the entire power phase of the kick. Check out the related videos and you will notice that nobody brings their knees into their chests while swimming breaststroke.

In the first part you have the kid bend from their hips so that their legs touch the wall. This is not correct. They should be bending from the knees so that their feet almost kick their butt.
Is it? What about the head position? The only reason the child isnt kicking out of the water is because the childs knees are so wide. Also you start teaching breaststroke on the back with two floats so kids can see their legs and the symmetry of the kick, move onto 2 floats front. THEN one float front.

FYI, you shouldn't be bending at the hips when you initiate your kick--only the knees. And when you flair out, your knees should never be wider than your shoulders... otherwise, this is ok.
