I don’t think to be human is to be negative or pessimistic. But of course it’s important to look at things from different perspectives, and as humans, we have that ability. But I think that it’s important to be, maybe, as understanding of each other as we could be. To be understanding of other species. And this, for me, not only comes from a spiritual and religious level, but also, a personal level. It’s important TO ME that I am in this, because to be human, I must understand to be understood.

I would like to give some support to anyone considering anthropology as a degree. I have done some research, and the potential that getting an undergraduate degree in anthropology opens is huge. First of all, a degree in anthropology is certainly not limited to only anthropology. A student can go on to pursue medicine (physician), law, justice, forensic science, paleontology, museum, perhaps psychology with a few more psychology classes, nutrition, ecology, biology and even in the business area. It just sort of gives a broad perspective with a lot of potential, especially if someone isn't quite sure what they want to do, and are debating between law or paleontology.

Shouldn't be about money, should be about enjoyment, right?

I was told that my BA program would be sufficient, they went on to tell me i'm already full of BS and i don't need anymore of it.

As a biologist, I love the inclusion of biological anthropology (often left out by social anthropology videos dominating). Every discipline in biology can be used to explain humanity, commonly bones and genetics, but also botany, human ecology, food sciences, and microbiology (paleopathology and our understanding and cultural reaction to disease in the past). IMO Humans are very anthropocentric, and nearly all scientific endeavours deep down are to understand humans better.

I’ll be a bit open here. (My bad for typing so much) I don’t have an aim. And because of people constantly asking what my aim is, I’m really bothered and possibly nervous now. But here’s a thing, I’m afraid of going to new places and adapting to them. Maybe because I’m an introvert? Idk. Nevertheless, I recently discovered this subject and it really peaked my interest. I have a slight interest in history so I was wondering perhaps this could be more comfortable for me. I believe I still have time but everytime I think about it, it feels like time is just shortening quickly. So yeah.

As a recruiter, I have seen degrees so devalued in the last decade that I rarely pay much attention unless the degree is in a science or maths based field. I would advise a young person to go out into the world until they are in their early twenties and gain real world experience in anything. And only then go to University and do a 'proper' subject not a 'fluff' degree.
