What are they (Orcas) trying to tell us ?

How a human can claim to own land that has existed for billions of years is crazy

Setting an orca free, after he spent over 20 years in the company of humans since he was 2 and who had never learnt to find food on his own, was cruel. Orcas live in pods and they would not accept him if he wasn’t from their pod. Orcas teach their young where to hunt and find food in the ocean. How did these people expect him to live in the wild when he was never taught to hunt for food? He should have lived out his life in the sanctuary.

Luna was like a big aquatic dog! So playful, I love it! I'm sure if it had been legal to do so, he would have let people take rides on his back!

I wish they had allowed Luna to be reunited with her mother and the rest of the pod. It is cool to see it interacting with people however it is not much different than keeping a toddler whale to oneself for tourism revenue -- they actually purposefully worked to halt rescue attempts to bring Luna back to its family. Then Luna was killed :(

I think those "experts" and activists don't know sh*t. They're so radical in their beliefs, any wild animal just has to stay far away from humans and not interact with them at all, cause apparently we're all hostile aliens from outer space, not part of nature. Omg look how strange it behaves trying to get attention from humans and just play, we have to forcefully put an end to it..

I think trying to force a wild animal that was captive for most of its life to go free/reintroduce it to the wild by hook or by crook is almost as bad as capturing it. It feels like misguided activism from those people complaining about the setbacks. Clearly it couldn't survive on its own anymore and should've just remained in an enclosure with trainers.

I believe he was luckier than Tokitae who was stuck in a small pool considering he was captive for less than twenty years, transfered to different bigger pools than Lolita's and lived in the wild for 6 years till his death in nature. We can't compare the cruelty and abuse that was allowed on Toki for more than 50 years. What they did with Kieko was right but what they did to Lolita was a shame, disgusting and disgraceful.

This honestly makes me sick to watch. Any white person knows you don't feed or play with wild animals. These greedy, selfish assholes prevented Luna from being reunited with his pod, and he ended up dying as a result.

So much for the Hollywood myth of 'wise and spiritual Indians, caring for Nature'. These disgusting, greedy money-grubbers prevented every effort to return Luna to his pod, because they wanted to keep the tourism dollars flowing. They didn't give a damn about anything 'sacred', because 'sacred' isn't even a concept in native cultures. It's just a word they use with white people, because they know it means something to us. And Luna paid the price, dying from a boat propeller. White people are the ones with wisdom, because we know you don't feed or play with wild animals.

Super happy for Springer🎉. Baby whale looked good too! I really enjoyed that documentary. I just happened upon it and now I can’t stop watching videos on orcas and this one especially where she was saved, rehabilitated and then put back with her pod. It’s just amazing. I wish there would be another video that would follow her and her calf but I guess now that she’s in a pod it’s a little bit harder to do anyways, happy for her!
