    I got 2 corticosteroid injection in my elbow for lateral epicondilitous (tennis elbow). I’m talking severe tennis elbow too. So bad that I had to stop using my arm altogether because the pain was unbearable. The shots literally cleared it right up. The pain never came back after the second shot. It may be advisable to try do rehab first (which I did) but if the pain doesn’t go away you have to just accept that your damage needs in depth treatment which includes reducing the inflammation that is causing the pain. Rehab alone usually can’t do that.

    After a 2 year absence from lifting weights due to an injury and a further 8 months of rehabilitation I am now back to stimulating my muscle. The biggest shock was, how quickly muscle atrophied. Unlike before the injury I now use a combination of Isometrics and very slow 1rep movement, something I did when in rehab. What has blown my mind is the muscular response. Suffice to say I will not be returning to dynamic weight lifting. i.e. 3 sets of 12 as an example. The difference between rehab and now is INTENSITY, using the aforementioned method. Another side benefit is the time factor, no longer hours but MINUTES and no need to visit the gym, another mind bending shocker. The above method allows me to train daily, whilst exercising the same muscles, which shockingly is getting me progress. I guess the micro bursts of intensity isn't over loading my recovery capacity, thus I am able to train and gain. Sleep is so underrated. Good luck in your quest for health. Thank you for uploading and sharing.

    This information is rediculously true... As a patient myself who underwent acl reconstruction using hamstring graft... I can tell it is the worst graft one can use because the acl and hamstring together constitute the rotation stability of the knee and removing 2 out of the three hamstrings causes that issue to enhance not fix it.

    Now I know why slow movement during strength training is good for me! I thought it was because it avoided bouncing in the tendons, and putting the load on the muscles. And it is, but it probably also has a profound effect on the collagen surrounding the muscle cells and the tendons. By the way, I have recently made chicken wings a staple in my diet. That's a lot of collagen!

Take gelatin.

    I'm about 1 hrs into this and the too long takeaways- is wider cuffs work better regardless of what material they are made of amount of pressure is relative to the user- Human Growth Hormone increased even in 70 year old patients The exact mechanism is not known Intracellular pressure, or Lactic acid build up or both?...Blood pressure does increase during training moreso in older people The Hormone cascade peaks about 15 minutes after removing the cuff Strength and Hypertrophy gains were seen in as little as 5 sessions One study showed no difference between BFR and control group Muscle" stem cells" increased 170 to 300 % in one study These are long presentations and the speakers are measured and cautious, but every one believes more research needs to be done in order to better understand why BFR works

I'd argue that you'd rather want to perform a test where the glute has to perform for repetitions until exhaustion. Any thoughts on this?

    • @larsnystrom6698
      @larsnystrom6698 Před rokem

      A good question! My intuition is that a couple of minutes of continous load on the tendon is needed for maximum effect. And it doesn't matter for the tendon if the load is excentric, consentric, or isometric. But fir the collagen in the muscle, it has to be streached! The load shouldn't have to be so heavy, but enough to put some strain on the tendon. So, maximum effect with the load you can tolerate 3 - 4 minutes isometric with the muscle in a streached position. But that's probably only one mode that works. Slow movement strength training is probably also effective.
