We are all about DIY Solar and Off-Grid living. Our family currently lives in our 45' 5th wheel RV in an RV park near where we are looking to buy property. We are using the RV park as sort of a staging ground where we can shop for property and build out our solar system in preparation for going totally off grid in the next year or 2. Come along with us as we review and test various products and equipment that will support our off-grid lifestyle.

Build Your Own DIY Solar Power System - Step by Step Guide
What would I need to do to setup a mini fridge and one WiFi camera for a curbside egg stand to run on solar power instead of running 100ft of extension cord from the house to power it for 8hours a day
When I raised chickens, I did not put the eggs in a fridge. I know this is sort of a controversial topic in the chicken/egg world though, but my eggs lasted a lot longer on my counter than the ones I put in my fridge... but... to answer your question, you need to know the power consumption on the mini fridge (probably 75-100w while compressor is running, and it will run longer if it's in direct sunlight). There's probably a 300+ watt surge to get the compressor started. So you will need a 500+ watt inverter, and a 100ah lifepo4 battery would last at least 12 hours. And then you need to decide how you want to charge that battery back up for its next use. So, you will either need solar panels or a lifepo4 battery charger. May be able to get by with a 100w panel, but maybe go 200w if you want to be sure. Or put the whole setup on a handtruck and just charge it up from the grid using a charger. They make a device called a "Kill-a-Watt" that you can use to track the usage of the fridge and know more precisely what you would need. You may be able to get by with just a 50Ah battery, but I am hesitant to recommend that without knowing more about the consumption of the fridge.
In a previous video you mentioned about trying to keep brands the same between equipment. Does this company have inverters and such? Or did I misunderstand and the battery not being the same brand as the inverter is not a big deal, it's more that the other equipment is the same? Subscribed to your other channel by the way. Looking forward to the next video!
No they don't have anything except batteries. There are only a small handful of companies that have a complete product line like that, and I was simply explaining the benefits of having brand continuity, but it is certainly not a requirement. Note also, this is a 24v battery, and even the Litime brand does not sell 24v inverters. To get a brand continuity across everything in anything larger than 12v, you would need to step up to brand like Sungold Power. I do not have any Sungold Power equipment to demonstrate with at this time. So far on the channel I have focused on 12v setups, but I will be moving into some larger 24v and 48v systems as I go. 12v is a great starter setup, and 24v is more practical for systems a bit larger like a tiny home etc, and 48v is the best for large systems to power a whole house. When you start going up in voltage like that, things usually start to get more expensive, so I feel like this is an incredible deal for a 100ah 24v battery.
@@enigmascape Ah, okay, I gotcha now. Sorry I was confused. Thank you for clearing that up for me!
Excellent video Thank you
Run 48V at minimum to run a modern home. It saves a lot on conductors.
the intro music gets me every time lol
I'd love to see a teardown. Is it 8 cells in series or something else?
probably prismatics in series ye
I want to know if these would work in a 48v golf cart application? It says you can hook up 4 batteries in series which would make the 48v.
Great deal
✅CRAZY DEAL RN With Amazon Prime: XZNY Battery: geni.us/xzny24v100ah ✅ ✅ Vevor 24v Inverter: bit.ly/vevor24v2500w ✅ NEW Solar Deals CZcams Channel: youtube.com/@solardeals
That battery does NOT have low temp charge protection!!!!!!!
I don’t see why a person would need a fuse on the conductor going to a fuse box ( the 12 volt automotive one). The fuses in the fuse box protect the conductors that are on any one of those circuits. Think I’d omit that one.
The reason it is there is similar to having a main breaker on your house in that it protects from complete overload. The combined amps of all the circuits on the DC fuse box combined. if you have 10 things all drawing say 10a, and each of those things has a 15a fuse, and all were on at the same time, none of the individual fuses would blow, but would be too many amps for the main wire leading to that fuse box. Since the DC fuse box is designed to connect all sorts of things, it is sort of an unknown how many amps it would all be combined, and the fuse in question is designed to protect the main wire, which is what a fuse is designed to do, protect the wire. Simlar to how you have have 10 circuits in your house, all rated at 20a, but the main line only supports 100a you would want it to throw the main breaker if you turned on too many things in the house all at the same time. In this same way, I probably should have put a large fuse in the line from the battery to the disconnect switch as a last line of protection really. As long as you are fully aware of what the max load will be, it's not entirely necessary, and in my case I do know the max load at that location so I am not all that worried about that one.
OK SOME SAFETY TIPS: Always use heavy duty DC breakers at the positive battery terminals before the wires go anywhere else. Always use a heavy duty breaker between your inverter and your batteries. Always use a breaker between your solar panel and your solar charge controller.. These breakers should be rated for the max current that will be drawn though those devices.. Keep your cables as short as you can and use the proper size wire that is rated for or even higher than the current that will be drawn through those devices. Check "amperage capacity for wire" charts (online) to determine what gauge wire that is required for your system.. You would be surprised at the number of DYI people who do not know what they are doing and end up with inverter cables heating up like a toaster element. Keep it safe.. do the research, use correct and safe wiring to avoid issues and a possible fire. More importantly, if you don't know what you are doing.. FIND SOMEONE WHO DOES
False advertising. Clicked the link and the price is $220.
@@googleuser4434 it’s $179 on Amazon in USA I just checked again. Not only that there’s a 5% coupon on top of that so it’s even less than $179 if you redeem the coupon.
@enigmascape concur. However this is a different link than in the video description
@@googleuser4434 there’s 2 links in the description, 1 for Amazon and I. For their website. But this happens quite often where they are not always the same price. Also this is not an advertisement, I don’t work for these people. Prices change all the time and it’s prime day right now on Amazon so lots of stuff is on sale.
On Temu you can get a set of 2 for $302 right now. That is how I found this video in researching the battery.
Amazon Link : geni.us/humsienk100ahgroup24 Humsienk Website: www.humsienk.com/products/humsienk-12v-100ah-lifepo4-battery?Enigmascape
I just bought one of these, along with a 230AH Lithium battery and WFCO panel upgrade for our pop up camper. Looking forward to installing it!
What are the 100ah batteries priced at normally. I'm in Canada and the 100ah lifepo go for about $1300. Big discrepancy.
This particular brand is not avalable in canada right now, but I just looked and I suspect you may be looking at a 48v 100ah battery which is what you can get in that price range in Canada. Try searching for "12v 100ah Lifepo4" on amazon and you will have all kinds of options in the $300-379 (cad) price range. Its comparable pricing to USD if you factor in the exchange rate.
Thanks for the video (sort of) review. But I have a few questions. I feel like you started off good on batt, but then switched to a cooking show... Just giving you trouble. Anyway, you never gave a summary or conclusion on the batt, then down further you link to the LiTime Lipo4 batts on Amazon and don't even give a link to this one. So how do you really feel about it? Do you prefer the LiTime or others better and why? Interested in your thoughts.
The little cooking bit is something I will be doing off and on a little in videos towards the end. My intent is 2-fold with it to sort of show beginner's what's possible with a single battery with only a 100a bms, and the next video I'll be cooking something on my induction cooktop or toaster oven etc. to put heavy loads on the PAIR of batteries. The primary battery draw for most people is either cooking or climate control. The other thing is, (SPOLER ALERT) My wife and I are gearing up to launch another CZcams channel all about "off grid cooking" so yea, I'm teasing a bit out there in advance with some clips here and there. I have not announced it yet because it's going to be another month or so because we are trying to wrap up a bunch of stuff, so there are no videos on that channel yet. I have a couple of other big things in the works as well, but to answer your question about the battery. I do have links at the top for this battery, and I think for the price it's a great battery so far. It's a relatively new company with not much else in the way of other options for batteries, and that always comes with a certain level of risk in an unpredictable future need for warranty and support and availability of the batteries in the future should you decide to expand and want to use the exact same batteries in your bank. But, that's the reason 'off-brand' stuff is generally cheaper. This reason is the only drawback I see, and everyone has a different 'risk tolerance' level and a different long term strategy as far as expansion or the capacity they have a need for. For building out a relatively small and cheap system then I think these are a good option. I'll put it this way, I liked them enough that I am trying to get my hands on 2 more because in most of my use cases 400ah is about where a capacity becomes truly functional for my needs. If someone is not willing to take the risk with a new and relatively unknown company, then I feel like LiTime is a great option because they are still a relatively good deal and a relatively well-established company.
I saw the link right after I posted that. Sorry, I'm on this stupid small screen phone and have crappy eyes... Plus, maybe I try to read to fast... Either way I appreciate your thoughtful reply. I will subscribe and look forward to your new stuff and I'll get caught up on your existing content... Again, I really appreciate the reply. So many channel owners won't reply to questions.

I also own the redodo 40a that's just about like it, and thats what I upgraded from because redodo did not offer a 60a one. Another company called HQST also has the 40a one, and the LiTime has a 30a and a 60a that neither of those others offer. So, not exactly the same, but extremely similar with different specs. I suspect whoever the manufacturer is has offered some exclusivity to different models. Either way, LiTime is the distributer of this 60a one. My redodo app for my 40a and my litime app for the 60a can operate either unit too, so they are essentially the same with slightly different specs.
Great video! I agree, keeping the same brand not only makes troubleshooting easier, but looks better too. Another benefit is that it makes upgrading easier when they come out with new products as hopefully they integrate seamlessly. Looking forward to your next video!
We just purchased the same battery for our camper. We’re using a victron 100/30a Bluetooth solar controller. I have a question for you… would you use the preset for lifepo4 on the victron or would you use the battery manufacturer settings? We’re new to solar, so just getting started. Thank you
It's always recommended to use the setting from the battery whenever possible because there can be slight variations with different batteries. It will not hurt anything using the default settings tho, especially from a good quality controller like a victron.

Li Time has been around for years now they make there own BMSs. Cells ECT they have a Top Tier Lower priced Lipo4 Battery and Components. I have (2). 24 volt 100 AH Batteries and (4) 12 Volt 100 AH Batteries
I was aware that they do in fact make their own BMSs but I didn't know they made their own cells now too. I will have to look into that more. Appreciate the comment!
You you find out about the cells post it on hear. Thanks
I just watched a video of some guy was Hooking up and testing a Li Time 3000 watt Low frequency inverter. It must be a New product. It looks just like the Aims or SunGold power inverters
I’ve seen that inverter and thought the exact same thing. It looks just like the aims but way cheaper. I’d like to get my hands on one of those babies! Their batteries are their own thing now, but their components are still made by 3rd parties so I wouldn’t doubt it actually is an aims inverter rebranded.
I agree about keeping to the same brand, even if I just want everything to match. And it’s ok, we know what a battery looks like being unboxed.
I'm totally with you on the aesthetics of having everything match as well. It's bad enough having all the wires everywhere, but having at least the components all matching seems to make it look somewhat less cluttered.
Hello awesome review What meter is used in the video for capacity test? Looked in your linked tools but didn’t see it Thank you
Thanks for the reminder, I keep meaning to add that to my equipment list and just keep forgetting. I updated it now. it's this one from AliExpress: Junctek BL140F: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DCqD8Lh
I love the Channel good information on Solar systems
Curious now to see what you have planned. Looking forward to seeing what it is!
I gave you all 👍👍👍👍 brother I thought your video much more detailed than the other video
Thanks! I really appreciate the positive feedback.
Were you discharging it at about 600 W? Looks like a great value
I started off at 480-500w and then threw another 200w at it , so for the majority of the test it was closer to 700w. and for the last 5m or so I bumped it back down to the 480-500w because my inverter was getting angry. It's only a 1kw inverter and running 700w for almost 3 hours solid. I forgot to mention it's a 120a bms too.
🚨Much love in Jesus name ✝️☝️💯😎🥰🙏🏻🔜
