I like the criticisms because that would make the game better: fail fast! That way you improve faster. Some of the arguments here are very valid. Most of them actually. We just need to make this get to the developers so that they understand what they need to improve, hopefully where they agree it is valid. Did anything change since then to this season?

The first big crypto game will be one that has crypto as an optional feature. I don't want to make taxable events by selling what I earn in stage 0 to fund higher level access. This project is new to me, so I could be misinterpreting it.

Outside Illuvium, Gods unchained is the best Web3 game on the market imo. I played regularly for 2 years during 2020, spending most of the time in Mythic. Each god has its own play styles and sub play styles, lots of replay value there. Death I found particularly fun as there was loads of options for aggro or control styles. Also got the gods and IMX airdrop just for playing the game, so big for love gods unchained. To compete at higher levels at the time I was playing, it definitely helps to have purchased powerful cards from the genesis set, which were very rare and could never be nerfed in anyway. Makes me wonder if set 1 Illuvials will have the same competitive advantage when we’re at set 4 and 5 🤔

i messed up in a different way i caught a tier 5 illuvial - no tier 5 shards *sob* i tried a tier 4 one with something like 30% capture rate and it just faded away laughing at me

really crappy game..tried to play for a long time but definitely pay to earn. If you don't have a killer deck you will never advance far.

They changed the rewards system for Gods Unchained recently. Now people that play without a NFT deck earn almost no tokens. So if you want to play the game, make sure to pay or at least rent a meteorite deck or you will get around 0.05 GODS per day. So the game is basically pay to play now.

Hype videos and doom videos need to be taken with a grain of salt. This guy obviously gets attention trashing Illuvium. Not saying aome points have 0 validity but they are so exaggerated they are irrelevant.

If they can manage to run this game in my potato cellphone like axie, it may have a chance, but right now you need a mid range of pc atleast to play this game, then the question is why would I play this instead of playing great games like read dead redemption 2, elden ring, or heck dota, Fortnite?

thanks for this video I agree Illuvium have the worst start in crypto gaming history. The team have no timing with the crypto market. The game feels like in early beta. No real story, no real quest, no real battles with own illuvials. Iam really wondering what they are working on the last 2 year......... (no hate, FACTS) Illuvials have no value and fall massiv in price. And no one wants to buy them on the market. No support. I had problems at the beginning and got a message after 2 weeks... after I solved the problem them myself... and even no explanation when your own Illuvials just got burned for no reason.. (now I know) .. The worst ever : the landholder.... they are down more than 85 % off when they bought the land and also they cannot sell any fuel / or very very less fuel on the market. Feels like the game is dead... or even never was a life. Even for now if u would buy new land with -85 % now and u lucky and can sell all ur fuel every day... it needs 8 year to get ur roi... congratulations. ROI for landholder who bought 2 years ago = over 50 years roi. Badest game designer and calculation I saw so far. no front, no hate, just facts. there is hope if the team increase their work, marketing and design 10 x otherwise..... u know...

Crypto game is an oxymoron, that's why they fail. Nobody is playing to "have fun", everyone is fighting to make money.

Maybe Illuvium should make the ranger a bit like Link in Zelda. I kinda like the Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, how there are many activities for Link to do, in Hyrule. Maybe add some Dokas and Grokkos attacking you in Stage 3 Regions, etc. Making Illuvium a bit like the Zelda game could improve the it. Economically, I was in the opinion that the Testnet should have been longer, then launch the Mainnet Open Beta, way later, like in October or November, instead of July the 25th.

A lot of these games will be niche and fun and that is absolutely fine. People always have larger than life expectations and that will more often than not result in disappointment. If you have roi in your minds you need to go elsewhere because that is not what games are for even if they have p2e or are expensive.

Im bastly sad coz im hating how this guys make the game. Normal ppl can make his family go bankrupt just to play this game. There are tons of games web2 better than ilv. Part of this game us economy and the chance to earn. Im here since 2021 and probably i lost most of my money on every invest i did in this game. Devs making life earning. The only thing i win in this game is the free airdrop. And i dont want to mention lands. ...

This is a beautiful ambitious project, they are just getting started with the ecosystem and need more time to refine. Not sure why some people want it to fail so badly.

Other thing that would confuse people that I can agree with his take is, Im going in trying to play an overworld game, which I would equate to something like a open world type game. But everytime I try to catch something Im thrown into a auto-battler game which I might not even be interested in. Runs in overworld is a pretty much glorified pack opening, making it with more layered complexity does not help.

All I know is that idea of brain storming the new game (battle royale) needs to put on hold indefinitely. And when the idea do come back around, they need to make simple addicting games that can be built in 6 months. Arcade style games, etc.

The cinematic makes it look like a shooter game, I showed it to my non web2 cousins. They asked if the game is similar to Halo or something. There are amazing illuvials, we literally saw 2 in the cinematic. No indication that its a monster catching game.

You compare Illuvium with Fortnite as in how a shitty concept can become great. Fortnite is one of tens of thousands of games that could have failed badly, and it's the ONE game of those bad games that survived by a huge change of mechanics. The idea that Illuvium would also take that route, that's ridiculous. There is nothing that indicates this. No, Illuvium will have a slow death from here on.

I am probably staying in illuvium for years to come, and have been here since 2021. I do agree that the game should not have been released, after the tutorial the game feels awkward and dead, like "keep doing the one and only thing you learned in the tutorial and keep paying". I dont thing a free to play model is going to get any players, and i know that you caveman understand this, would anyone play this even if its for free, the one and only fun element in overworld is when you see something really rare, and that need to be an NFT, otherwise it does not matter anyway. And the marketplace is not even in the game, and i think that is a huge mistake, saying that people can earn from tier 0 to pay for higher tiers is sush a huge hassle with what must be one of the worst web explorer marketplaces in 2024, it is sooo slow, and the first listed items you see, you cant even buy. Filtering in a clunky way, there is more bad facts that you can say about the illuvidex than good things you can say about it. And even if all this was fixed by moving it to illuvialmaster who have had functions for a long long time that illuviumlabs cant seem to fathom, it is far to many steps for a web3 person to take to be able to do all the things that we want to do. And a web2 person cant even pay even if he wants to, without going thorugh a huge hassle through he's bank where the 20-100$ that he is trying to get thorugh he's bank to the exchange and back to he's wallet so he can send it to he's passport might have cost him half of his money,if he happened to do it while the gas fees where high he would end up with 0$ , it is insanely (and i really mean INSANELY) ridiculous to launch the game where it is so extremely hard to pay for the game. When he says "mincrafts story mode has more interactive gameplay than this", it is really true, i dont feel any connection between my overworld gameplay and the arena types. Overworld is missing gameplay...just think about that, a game that is missing gameplay...what overworld is now i would describe as something that a company would showcase before announcing the game to be launched in 5-8 years. Kieran in he's AMA's and many others have been comparing overworld to "world of warcraft and fortnite or pokemon" and arena to "TFT", sure i buy the arena part, but saying things like that about overworld is really unnecessary. Same with saying thins like "own you assets", the first thing that ended up happening right before launch was that you were supposed to send your assets a wallet that you dont own. I mean what is the point! I feel more safe with my assets in Diablo 4 than i do with my illuvials. The web3 wallet can get hacked or IMX can stop their operations. My Diablo 4 account will not cease to exist, and if it does, Blizzard will make my account whole again, problem solved! Sorry for the massive rant. I did play alot in the beginning, but i will not keep playing overworld for atleast a year or two, if the project survived, and i really hope it does
