Is The Golden Mile Still Golden? | InSpired Kiki Wilson of OUT40
Kiki Wilson of OUT40 sat down with the crew of InSpired earlier this year to talk about Rt. 40 and it´s role in making Frederick the place it is today. In this small snippet of the interview, Kiki describes the "Golden Mile" and what it meant for residents of Frederick, as well as the importance of commercial route 40 growing alongside the booming residential growth of route 40.
InSpired is a 1-hour nationally broadcast PBS documentary about Frederick Maryland. While in production, we will be posting filming updates, historic photographs, and interview snippets (like this!). We have interviewed over 50 people for our documentary for the purpose of capturing the entirety of Frederick City and County, and we occasionally cut snippets of those interviews for people interested in Frederick. I was born in 2002, I’ve been to NYC. The regular skyscrapers looked scary just standing there. This is insane, seeing the tower fall had to be the wildest experience ever.

I watched some footage of the 9/11 attacks in my 3rd period in 7th grade, and they gave me goosbumps. I started imagining me being in the situation, it made me shook up. the towers were almost like a heart of america... and then the planes came and wiped them out. it did so much damage to the country. R.I.P the people who died in the attacks, may their souls be honored and loved by their creator.

How did the buildings turn to dust on the way down? There should have been debris consisting of concrete, steel, glass, sheetrock, and furnishings stacked 25 stories high, but there wasn't! No filing cabinets or desk were found. Everything inside disintegrated. How did that happen?
