I just bought one of these last night because it has lsws! I don't have any versatile so I needed to expand my collection! Lol we need more lsws in 1/16! Or versatile in 1/16!

For what it's worth that old school Ertl is a 40 series! The 50 series 4wd's moved the exhaust and intake from the hood to the side of the cab and had a much wider hood

Always liked the looks of the big AC machines. The smaller D-14 is my favorite model by SpecCast but this D-21 in Ertl's Prestige line is dynamite! Great review Phil!

I think that lever on the right by the brakes is the brake lock.

What an exciting scale Case tractor image! Although it does not have the details of a 'precision' Ertl, Universal Hobbies or SpecCast Classic Series, the engine stamping, especially for its time, is amazingly good. The look and stance of the great Case 800 is wonderfully captured by Ertl on this one - great review Phil - thanks!

Interesting steering mechanism on this one. They got the classic ertl steering mechanism but it's flipped around backwards so the tie rod is on the front like the real tractor, then they added a drag link on the right side.

As far as cast-in engine details go, this one is REALLY good. You can actually make out parts, it's not just a bunch of big blobs

Is there a way I can contact you? Ive got a 1/16 Case 3294 that Id like to add some things to (rear duals, a 3 point if possible). Don't know where to get started in the hobby. Thanks!

1/32 were all really low detail models for little kids when I was younger so I never collected them But now they have really come a long way and all look pretty good! The hitches they put on this scale still bugs me though

I wonder what happened to the paint on that one? I have one and the paint is way smoother! Yours must have been painted on a Friday right before quitting time or somethin

I prefer The all green style of the R and 80 much better than the 820/830 with the yellow personally

I didn't realize Ertl put cab glass in any model as far back as '87, that's pretty cool. They didn't do any cab glass in John Deere models that far back as far as I know. I feel like the first John Deere with cab glass that I saw was the 9400 4wd collector edition in the mid 90s. Could be wrong tho.

Any one on this group know anything about the Ertl 1/12 case IH stx 450 quadtrac??? Picked one up at the weekend real heavy piece detail to thack assemblie units second to none.. makes me wonder if it was a salesmans demo model £40 i gave for it ..👍👍🤔

From 30 years ago in 1994.I wish that Ertl would make 1/16th 4WDs like this today.These prestige models are too expensive.The 8870 was the new model in the 70 Series when introduced in 1993.8560-8570,8760-8770,8960-8970.The 70 Series 4WDs were known as the Power Plus tractors because they had a power bulge.Never will forget walking into my JD dealership in Fultonville,NY in April 1993 & seeing poster for these 4 new models

Looked up pictures of the real thing, and those screws are in fact replicating headlights lol! Pretty smart on their part. Probably saved them money on printing decals.

I had one of these and if I remember right there were certain PTO implements you could get that the tractor's PTO drove. I think I had a hydrapush spreader for mine that it spun
