Russia has accused the United States of responsibility for a Ukrainian attack on Crimea that used five US-supplied ATACMS missiles and resulted in the deaths of five people. The Russian Defence Ministry reported that four of these missiles, equipped with cluster warheads, were intercepted by its air defence systems. However, a fifth missile detonated mid-air, causing shrapnel to fall on beachgoers in Sevastopol. This incident killed five people, including two children, as confirmed by the city's Moscow-installed governor. On June 24, the Kremlin warned the US of "consequences" and summoned its envoy in Moscow. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov condemned the strike on Sevastopol as "barbaric" and accused Washington of "killing Russian children
