To my ear, they were all decent in the lower gain demonstration, but things changed as you got to medium and heavier settings. I'd rank them like this (in my opinion based on how you had them set): 1. Tsakalis (seemed to have the most organic tone - more amp like), although they were all very close and solid pedals in general:: 2. @+ (I own this as well as the Tsakalis and it's a dark pedal - I'm going to try some of your settings); 3. RevivalDrive Hot Rod (Solid, but sometimes a bit fizzy sounding to my ear. Depends a lot on what amp it was modeled after of course); 4. LPD 87 (Sounded more like a pedal than the others to my ear - a bit too perfect in a way).

Great demo and great to see what the semi hollow body is being used for today (I've an Ibanez AS93FM). Maybe you could cover briefly what pedals and settings are being used, all the best from Australia.

cool comparison, thx! the fretboard on the AV II 63 ist very dark waht I like. Have the same guitar and my fretboard ist also on the dark side but not so dark as yours. Did you use oil or something special or is it stock? the AV II series are incredible in my opinion. also have the 61 strat in 3tsb ;)

Exactly 15 years ago I was on an Arctic Monkeys concert and heard their guitar tone live and since then I never felt that I was able to recreate something like that. Up until now when I got the chance to demo the Victory Amps Copper V1 which is just the best recreation of the classic British Voxy type of tone in a pedal. They had some help from Adrian Thorpe from ThorpyFX and this just turned out colossal. Check it out! 😊

Well, just when I thought I already saw everything and tried good and very good overdive pedals then comes something like this Decibelics Golden Royale and proves me wrong and shows me that there is always something that can be even better... It's really hard to find the right words to praise this dual klon style overdrive pedal enough, you just have to hear it... and play it to feel it! 😊

Excellent video... BUT... After spending $109 on this I was highly disappointed. Sure, the ability to easily swap pickups without soldering is great. But I was a bit shocked after reading all of the hype on Gunstreet's website to find cheap capacitors, a no name output jack clearly labeled CHINA right on it and a generic no-name 5 way selector switch with a horrible, indistinct feel while switching between pickups, so you either had to look down at where you were setting it or just go by ear. I've played no name $199 guitars with better switch feel. Installed it into a 2019 Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster, the overall sound seemed significantly duller, like a blanket was placed over the top of my amplifier. Subtle but definitely noticeable. The tapers of the volume and tone pots were just odd. Like they had potentiometers that were made with weird custom tapers "just for the sake of doing something weird". I played around with the volume bleed on and off, triple checked to make sure all was hooked up correctly (really no way to screw it up) and it never did sound good. I blame the cheap, no name components. I gave it two weeks and I yanked it out. Easy to install and zero soldering required, but it's just junk components cleanly mounted to a board with pretty wires then connected to a cheap made in China output jack. And it actually made my instrument sound worse. There are 3 other makers of similar solderless harnesses that utilize actual quality parts like American CRL switches, semi-premium capacitors and actual Switchcraft jacks for $20 less than this. This company should focus less on the cosmetics of their product and "Portland hipster" look of their website and actually make a solid product, because this thing was in no way a tonal "upgrade".

I have the tsakalis, the at+ and the revival drive. The Tsakalis is the best but I really like to switch to the other one sometimes, in particular the revival drive in preamp mode. Anyway, all of them are outstanding with a bonus to the Tsakalis.

Interesting. It sounds great, but I personally would use the brown setting and my volume knob on my strat which has three EMG SAs. Let it clean up with the volume knob. Good video though and I think you proved its a great pedal platform. Love your pedal board. I have just started to buy pedals. I was never a pedal guy. Im old though. 😂. I used to plug in and crank a tube amp to get the tone I wanted. Cant do that so much now days. Regards from South Central Indiana. USA. Tim..❤

Thanks man, this was helpful. Love my Fender Twins clean tones but would love an overdrive pedal to put in front of it that would give me a more Plexi overdrive tone.
