I’m a 32 year old woman who kind of gave up on dating too. I feel like people who are really nice and loving and trusting end up getting taken advantage of and overtime, it takes a toll on you. I remember I was dating this one guy who never really got over his ex. He still years later, talked about the hurt that she, put him through. He told me that I was an amazing woman, but he could never fully commit to me because he was still not over her. Although he never actually said he wasn’t, his actions said otherwise, and I tried to show him I was different, which led to my hurt as well in the end. My lesson from that was that, someone needs to be fully healed before they can get into a relationship with someone else. I hope that we all find some happiness and healing one day and find the amazing soulmate that we all deserve to have.

My dude I totally understand where you coming from. I'm 34 and just recently went through my first heartbreak back in March after being with this girl for over a year. The girl I was with showed me love, affection all the good stuff, and I was taking good care of her by providing like what a man should do. She ended up leaving me and I was completely destroyed. In the end I found out that I was with a covert narcissist the whole time and she played the game well and that caught me off guard. After months of healing and working on myself I tried to get back into the dating game and oh boy what a fucking shit show. Dating apps are useless and as an average guy good luck getting matches and with a stroke of luck when I got matches (at least 2) went on dates for both and nothing came after as their was no connection whatsoever. I even went out to social nights to meet woman and when I do meet them get their contact info only to be ghosted or put on read. The whole dating scene is completely fucked to the point where I don't even want to date anymore, why put all my time and energy into something that may not even workout. At this point just going to continue focusing on me, work on myself to improve, stop chasing woman, and come back even stronger. At least now I can enjoy life in peace.

31 here and in the exact same boat. Absolutely no benefit I could see a female providing my life at this moment in time. All of my friends in relationships, with kids, married are miserable and life has shown me I will not ever need that in order to be fulfilled and satisfied with my purpose.

I think its good to take a step back every once in a while, as you said, its necessary to heal, but to throw it all out like that seems to me more like you're running away from yourself. There are some good words here. I suggest you speak to a therapist about your object relations with women and why you keep calling them females. Maybe it's a bad habit from your past as I see you say woman a few times. Keep growing.

If I had a second chance at life I would have removed my uterus at puberty, never dated a man, be part of a thriving community of women, and adopted a dog.
