Welcome! I'm Mairead ☘️ (pronounced Mer-aid) and I'm a Positive psychology coach, specialising in matrescence (transition into motherhood) and identity. My channel is here as a trustworthy and professional source to support mothers and women through all sorts of wellbeing challenges that life inevitably brings! All my work is backed by scientific research and I always adhere to EMCC’s ethical standards. I post 2 videos per week on a Sunday and Wednesday covering all sort of topics related to improving your mental wellness from self-care guides, guided meditations, ways to overcome self-limiting beliefs and so much more!

My First Month on YouTube- What It’s REALLY Like to be a Small YouTuber | From a Complete Beginner
In this video, I unpack what it’s really like to create a new channel on @CZcams as a complete beginner. I discuss what’s been fun and what has been challenging during my first month as well as the truth about using paid promotions. Being on youtube is such a ride and there’s some really great content to help you grow. Thanks for your video....very informative! I am not sure how I feel about paid promotions....but thanks for being honest and talking about the steps you have tried! I have heard many other small channels say the same thing with regarding the AVR dropping. Good Luck!

I do think promotion is worth it if you need a confidence boost and also subconsciously I think when you have more subs, viewers are more inclined to follow when they see others have - if that makes sense? Maybe that's just the psychologist in me thinking that!haha Sending you the best for your channel too!

Best of luck Mara. You sound like you are doing such a great job of researching what works and what doesn't and you have realistic expectations. I've been focusing on building one of my channels recently and I've found that many of my older videos are getting a lot more traction - my stuff won't date and so I'm finding the older stuff is helping my stats. Stick with it. It's not easy to turn and produce regular content but it is a lot of fun and for those of us who are "teachers at heart" it gives us a great creative outlet!
