Dont go on the ground or they will all jump on your head!
I'll always remember Boris for getting suplexed on his head by Lasjik and somehow getting Tim's back and strangling him immediately after.
Great stuff, love seeing these older matches whenever you pop them up.
Also, he's about a foot taller than Sakata
LOL, hey, at least it hasn't been a year....
huge difference dumb-ass, watch the video
Our singlet supremacist holds a victory over Tim Lajcik. So, he was by no means a jobber.
I swear the IGF guys were warned to stay close to the ropes before the match as they were petrified of being hooked.
The Crossface Chickenwing could be possible in MMA since it’s a combination of a rear facelock and hammerlock and sometimes a combination of a rear naked choke and hammerlock.
鈴木の右腕が痩せまくってる。やっぱキツかったんだな。
To this day, Rampage Jackson’s powerbomb is still my favorite example of a pro wrestling move being brought to MMA.
Pro Wrestling, despite being a scripted event, does use a lot of legit moves and techniques from Amateur wrestling(albeit modified to minimize injury). Honestly, if anyone was gonna go into MMA, CM Punk kinda made the most sense, since his moveset in WWE took a lot of inspiration from MMA(see the CM Punk knees) the issue is mainly just that Punk had never trained proper MMA before and that’s why he performed so poorly when put into UFC.
the wife he hit was his stable MASTER's wife... so he got kicked out of the stable

A great deal of these clips are actual japanese pro wrestlers fighting against other styles of martial arts, it was a pretty common thing to see pro wrestlers in mixed martial arts matches when events like Pride and K-1 where booming in Japan.
And also the rock bottom is just a modified Russian sambo slam .combat sambo is a scary sport in its own
Damn those Germans ain’t no joke .ouch must really hurt
There is ACTUAL wrestling in MMA. Is this not known? A German Suplex IS a REAL wrestling move. A Belly-to-Belly suplex is a REAL wrestling move...not just WWE. Just watch old videos of "Shoot Wrestling" from the 40's and 50's. Those "fake wrestlers" would fuck you up, in double-time.
Most pro wrestling moves are taken from, erm, you know, wrestling😂
Отличное видео,спасибо автору!👏 Отлично подобрана музыка и заставка))
1:23 did he just do a piledriver?
Yes

Vernon White is horribly underrated. The main reason being, he stubbornly wanted to just jump int he fire too soon. I remember reading interviews where both Ken and Frank said that Vernon White could actually FIGHT with Taekwondo, which was unique and impressive, but that Vernon stubbornly resisted learning shootfighting and just wanted to spar with them. This horribly stunted his learning and when competing in Pancrase (A more grappling-focused fight promotion that basically was real pro wrestling), Vernon was known to do well in striking but once it came down to grappling, he resisted well but then got tapped out. FINALLY, Vernon relented and began learning shootfighting from Ken, after a 1-7 fight record in Pancrase. The results were significant as immediately after, Vernon scored 2 wins, one by heel hook submission. He struggled still as he was behind the class as the rest of the Pancrase shootfighters were now more seasoned and experienced. But it says something that Vernon white left Pancrase with a submission victory over BJJ black belt Larry Papadapolous and scored a win against Minoru Suzuki. While Vernon still had more losses than wins from Pancrase, it was noted that once Vernon FINALLY added shootfighting to his skillset, Vernon quit getting tapped out early and was giving tougher competitive losses to top talent by having much better submission defense. To also managed to defense submissions from Kazushi Sakuraba for most of a fight and did good striking against Chuck Liddell before losing. But he earned a lot more victories in Brazilian bare knuckle Vale Tudo cage fights and in other promotions, even becoming a King of the Cage champion in a time when KOTC was just below Pride and the UFC. He even beat some mid-tier UFC fights in his later years. But ultimately, Vernon stayed in the game too long and that added more losses to his record. So while his record looks bad, it's more due to circumstances than skill or talent. The guy is a beast and probably the first Taekwondo fighter to properly adapt that striking style to MMA, whilst also showing that no matter how good you are at a traditional style, you NEED proper MMA training to succeed. If only he had taken his time to learn shootfighting from the beginning before jumping into competition...who knows what his legacy might have been.
The flow between a UFC fight and a Pancrase fight back then was totally different, Varelans would have smashed him under UFC rules back then.
Probably, the polar bear was a tough dude
I would love to hear Joe rogan screaming: SWEET CHIN MUSIC!
The referee is Motoyuki Kitazawa, a pro wrestler under the ring name Kai Katsushi join JWA in 1962, left to go to failed Tokyo Pro and return back to JWA, leaving again to join Antonio Inoki New Japan Pro Wrestling until he retires in 1981. Beginning referee fo UWF, Newborn UWF, Rings and Tatsumi Fujinami Dradition.
Once they started playing the Randy Savage theme, I thought someone was gonna hit an elbow drop from the top of the Octagon
I just came here after watching him losing the fight against Rickson Gracie. He really knew how to fight.
What is this organization

I miss TMDMAT.... Good stuff. Oh, send my love to the kitty. :3 God bless you and yours brother!

The unsung hero of Japanese MMA
it's "chassé bas" (=low chased)... maybe you had it right and it was just the Aussie prononciation. It is generally used in "pas chassé" or simply "chassé" (= gliding step) in gymnastics or dance, but I don't know why savate named a piston kick by this name. The ref jumping over the fighters was epic ! Tod or Toad ?
Thankyou for the correction, I was running on my 10 year old memories of the savate episode of human weapon so no wonder i got that one wrong. The cat is called Toad, he's a little ginger fellow who is either sleeping comfortably with no thoughts in the world or getting up to mischief, there is no in between
"The two meat-titans" LOL!!! When are my trunks gonna be ready brother? :P
That ref slip was slick!
Dutch and Russian Rings fighters, looked like Umbrella Corps soldiers, from the Resident Evil series.

Please keep doing these. Do Naoya Ogawa next.
Did he do anything completely idiotic and counterproductive?
It's better discuss Silly Wrestlers next time like Shinichi Suzukawa, Atsushi Sawada or etc.
Suzukawa might be worth an episode of Wrestling is very silly
Kitao serious about his Fire Emblem, eh?
Koji Kitao? HA! MORE LIKE STINKY ATTITUDE!
the stinkiest
Hey now. I would imagine (??) the two works turned shoot on the 4/1/91 SWS card (Kitao vs Tenta and Suzuki vs Sugawara) are both omitted from the official release. That said, I'm pretty sure there's pro shot footage of the Kitao vs Tenta match out there. Really wish there was more than fan camcorder footage of Suzuki vs Sugawara.
It was actually Kitao who took the mic and said that stuff, not Tenta.
I did add a little subtitle to correct my mistake, the dangers of ranting off the top of my noggin
If you don't want to wade through Russian p*rn sites, the Kitao/Pedro match can be found over on the Kakutogi Road. I think we also delve into the BS striking art that he obtained in order to try and claim credibility before his UWF-I debacle. Anyways... great job!
The Kakutogi Road was such a useful resource in rounding out my Kitao knowledge, I highly recommend
Oh yeah!
His last name is apparently supposed to be spelt as Thonhauser (his full name is Sander Jansen Thonhauser) and was in the Dutch Marines before he hooked up with RINGS Holland, mostly training under Hans Nijman (apparently the other Sander was also a Nijman guy) and fought in a few RINGS Holland events (where they were doing full MMA rules) before being brought to Japan. He now works as a strength and conditioning coach with his own gym called Performfit Center.
Wow, that guy from Holland, you could see that every strike was super powerfull ! Kanehara's skull must be thicker than mine, I could'nt keep fighting after such a beating.
Our Korean/Japanese thicc boy gets the win!
