Hi, We recently entered into an agreement with a telecommunication company that requires us to measure the lengths of fiber optic cables in specific areas using an OTDR device. As a test, we began measurements from a point known as the Optic Line Terminal (OLT) in one area, using the OTDR device in FTTH mode. This resulted in the generation of 50-60 PDF reports. Our current challenge is processing these OTDR results to determine the total lengths of the cables in the specified area accurately. The difficulty arises because some cables follow the same route before diverging to different neighborhoods. If we simply sum the lengths from the PDFs, we will end up with inaccurate and unrealistic results due to the overlapping routes. We need to identify and deduct these common, mutually used distances to get an accurate total length. We are struggling with pinpointing these overlapping routes/distances. Could you please assist us in resolving this issue?
Does anyone know how to adapt it to a fiber optic?

I have two expo OTDR I tested both OTDR with 100 km range fiber between total 17 splice point one OTDR show exactly 17 splice point another OTDR show only 11 splice point both OTDR setting is same then what is the issue?
What is the maximum number of Trials and time of duration?
If I want to run an RFC2544 test for 24 hours - do I have to find out by myself how many Trials and in combination the time of duration I have to specify to achieve the 24hours goal in summary of all the tests.

Unreliable but of equipment. Will show the route ends even tho it is a live fibre. For example. Mine now is showing the fibre route ends in 320m. But it has light from the OLT over 2.4km away so I know for a fact it shouldn't end in 320m. I would expect this if there was a snap. But there isn't. I'm trying to use it to locate a bend or bad splice
