You can use the keys 1 through 6 to swap immediately without ever bringing up the weapons menu. That's always been a thing, but the game doesn't really tell you about it, haha

I don't think there is one, unfortunately :/ I know there's a list of tech on SRC, and a few speedrunning people hang out in the publisher's Discord, you could ask for advice there.
