This set contains the works for piano solo by Sergei Rachmaninoff, 20th Century romantic, one of the greatest pianists of all time himself. In his iconic piano works he expresses his deepest personal emotions, from ecstatic joy and tolling of bells, to Slavic melancholy and utter tragedy. Many of his works became standard concert repertoire: the 24 Preludes, the Etudes‐tableaux, the Moments Musicaux, the two Piano Sonatas and the two Variations sets on themes by Corelli and Chopin.
The press has been enthusiastic about these recordings: GAVRYLYUK: “Sunk in deep‐dyed, all‐ Russian melancholy…magisterial command.. soaring ease and lyricism” (Gramophone) GAVRYLYUK: CHOC de Classica (France)
Composer: Sergei Rachmaninoff
Artist: Alexander Gavrylyuk (piano), Alexander Ghindin (piano) & Elisa Tomellini (piano)

Takemitsu: Complete Works for Piano

“Composing is giving meaning to that stream of sounds that penetrate the world we live in” , in short the credo of Toru Takemitsu. Toru Takemitsu (1930-1996) is one of Japan’s foremost 20th century composers, an innovator combining elements of oriental and occidental philosophy to create a sound uniquely his own, fusing opposites together such as sound with silence, the east with the west. Liszt: Scherzo & Marsch, 2 Ballades, La Romanesca, 2 Légendes, Csárdás macabre

His album features an impressive selection of piano works by Franz Liszt: the demonic and fiendishly difficult Scherzo und Marsch (still rarely played), the two dramatic Ballades, the two famous Légendes with their religious references, and a late work, the Csárdás Macabre, an astonishing and spine-tingling work featuring a remorseless sequence of parallel fifths. Liszt: Piano Music

Tyler Hay’s Liszt recital ranges over the composer’s protean output. It opens with the Gothic splendour and intricate counterpoint of the Fantasy and Fugue on B-A-C-H but immediately continues in the much more intimate and elusive idiom of the first of the Valses oubliées. Es maravilloso escuchar ésta interpretación y observar como se adecua a cada paso.. a cada observación que hago alrededor esté dónde esté
Чудо!как Вы порадовали мою душу своим исполнением! кристально чистый,как слеза!!!
1:24:12 Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, Op. 18: I. Moderato played by Anna Fedorova imho - terrible, monstrous ... maybe not the worst, but definitely one of the worst
The chords at the end of op33 40 are the lost chords.
Lyapunov's etudes are a very interesting example of pianistic literature. Unfortunately, they are rarely performed, also due to their great technical complexity. Therefore, it is very great that in recent years a number of pianists have included these worthy works in their repertoire. These etudes are dedicated to Franz Liszt, and they seem to be a continuation of Liszt's transcendental etudes, but stylistically they certainly go back to Balakirev's Islamey, whose texture and technique are largely different from Liszt's piano style. It is no coincidence that many pianists who easily played Liszt’s works could not even play the first page of Islamey.
MERAVIGLIOSO!

A touch close to that of Marcelle Meyer. How wonderful to hear such sensitivity. Thanks Mr. Devine.
Fabulous
Since I hear Yuan Shend play Bach P&F n°1 & 2 from bookI(here on YT)..I can't listen to any other pianist play Bach.

Rachmaninoff is my favorite composer. So I’m totally not being bias when I say that he’s probably the greatest and least understood composers of all time. He didn’t write as much as other composers, but when he did. His music was some if not the greatest ever conceived by man.
Excellent performance.
This music will be heard as long as the human kind exists on planet earth ...
OUTSTANDING! -- Kirk Reynolds, editor, The Orchestra & Its Transformations (Scribners, NYC)
It depends on whether I'm under the influence of the devil or not.
It's a shock and an insult to have a Taylor Swift ad pop up in the middle of the Goldberg Variations!
thank s so much for the wonderfull free music. what a blessing to listen to yu, so accomplished, and generrous, and i bet you love what you do🎶🎶🎹🎹💖💖

17:20 isn't this number 8? Underrated pianist btw. More people need to see this!
