I remember going to see this in the theater when I was 10 years old, with my grandmother who has since passed away. The fact that the power went out right before the ending made it even more memorable in a way I suppose. Did get to see the whole movie eventually thankfully. Now 31 years later, having recently watched a video about the sorry state of Marineland and the unfortunate animals that still live in captivity there, I've been looking around at everything I can find about orcas and other marine animals again, I feel the urge to see Free Whilly again.

I wish I still had my whale necklace that came with the Free Willy 2 VHS. Anyone else have that?

i have always wondered how JASON reacted when he heard Keiko had passed away i could never find any video's on it i know it must be painful for him to talk about it and i have always wondered how Jason felt working with Danielle Harris ( homeless girl ) in the first movie and wished that they made her his on screen girlfriend for all 3 movies and did he knew she was going to be a big star at the time? i have also wondered what happened to Mary Kate Schellhardt (Nadine ) after Free Willy 2 i mean did the both characters break up or they still together just seems to me her character just disappeared since no mention of her was made in Free Willy 3 i just hope Jason could make a video on this and explain why Mary could not continue her role in free willy 3

I'm honestly glad Tilikum was moved to Seaworld cause his life at Sealand of the Pacific was terrible. The tanks were too small and the training methods were abusive so I really think Tili was glad to get out of that sh!thole of a facility. I'm sure he'd rather had been in the Icelandic Sea with his family though but that wasn't an option cause he would've just died there faster than he did at Seaworld. So I Tilikum's life very much improved at Seaworld and he was happy most of the time until that day in 2010 when captivity finally got to the poor guy and he took his frustrations out on poor Dawn. After that is when his life wasn't as good anymore, especially since he was treated like a crazed animal. I'm glad he died, yeah I miss him a lot, but he lived a terrible life and deserved much better. Rest in Peace Tilikum, we miss you ❤

You missed Ryu. She was supposedly Ran and Kyu's calf. She lived two days due to a broken skull. Ran died a day later.

Dawn was such a kind soul, so sweet to see her teaching kids about these amazing creatures. She really adored her job and absolutely loved the orcas that she got to work with. She really had a way with animals, but it just shows that even if you are considered an animal whisperer, it doesn't mean things can't go wrong. But it wasn't her or Tilikum's fault. It was Seaworld, Sealand and her spotters fault for what happened. And the most unsettling thing about this video is that it aired five months before Tilikum killed her and they are in the exact tank. It is so sad when you think about it. May she rest in peace, she was a wonderful lady. ❤

THE DIVERS THAT ATTENDED TO HIM WERE MUCH NICER. I FELT SO SORRY FOR HIM. IT WAS A BLESSIING WHEN HE PASSED AWAY AND REUNITED WITH HIS SPECIES AND KIN.
