I used to work at Butlins in 1982. I remember going into the staff room on my 1st day to find other members of staff all sat down watching a porno during their lunch break. I was only 16 it kind of set the tone of what to expect 😂

I was Billy Bear in the video. It was a small bear costume & being 5 foot 1 l was the perfect height.Wonderful memories of being a Show Red. Performing as on of the singers in the productions each evening in The Broadway season 96 97 98 This brings back such happy memories of my 3 years at Pwllheli. But also a very sad evening. What you don't see is once the curtains on the stage closed we were all in tears heartbroken as the camp closed forever the very next day. Some 20yrs on we are all still in touch. Friendship made for life ❤

I went on holiday to Ayr Butlins e when I was about 12. I was really looking forward to it because I had recently come off crutches for a broken kneecap. It was a great camp swimming pool was brill and the fair. Even had an indoor fair. Unfortunately because of the massive amount of day tripper's coming in because there is no theme parks or anything like that in Scotland we didn't get much out of our holiday. We wanted to go swimming one morning. While queueing we counted 13 double decker buses arriving. It was a whole secondary school. They were escorted into the baths and we were told we couldn't go swimming that morning because the pool was booked exclusively for the school. We had to book to come back for an afternoon session. The staff on the fair got to know who the kids were that were on holiday and would ask us if we wanted to stay on for another ride. We always said yes. The queue's were ridiculous but at least we got to go on twice. But I remember a teacher complaining about the queue's and asking why them could stay on not the kids she was in charge of. He pointed out we were on holiday. The highlight of our holiday was our chalet was right opposite the door to the theatre for the shows. So as soon as we seen people start to queue we would go and queue. We got to see Bobby Knut Ken Dodd and Stu Francis. But we spent some of the days off the camp because of how busy it was.

Went there in 76, the year of the wonderful summer, when I was 12. A large gang of families from South Wales, all drove up together in convoy. Because the weather was so good that summer, it was a great time for all of us. Me and the large gang of mates enjoyed the free cinema, pool tables and 'one-armed bandits' while our parents loved the clubs and dancing. Was a good holiday.

i seen a pwllheli entertainment brochure from 1982 once on ebay bidded for it to put in a frame on my wall but was pipped at last second was gutted. (yes im a sad butlins nut) but the memories of that place are so happy and strong to my life

went twice a year from when i was a baby up till i was 16, went twice more as an adult after it started to change late 80s, wasnt quite the same as 70s til 85. also went to skeggy - minehead - bognor - filey - barry - they was never as good as pwllheli. if i could time travel once i would go back to butlins around 78 to 84
