    A year or so later, do you still recommend picking up this controller or old Dao controller is still your go-to/default?

    • @anko.___
      @anko.___ Před měsícem

      I played with my old Dao as long as I could because it had been modded with similar specs to the popoller. Definitely still recommend the popoller buying new. If a used Dao happens to be selling around you (most aren't willing to ship one) it's not a bad one to start out on.

    do you notice the buttons getting stuck at all?

      I had some buttons get stuck a few times, but they didn't ruin gameplay for me, though.

    How loud is the controller? Been thinking about buying this but there's barely any reviews on this thing

      They are pretty loud. I usually have game volume moderately loud and the buttons were almost loud enough to not hear it well. The Dao buttons were equally as loud.

    Hi, I am currently looking to purchase some rhythm game controllers cus I have some free money, around 500$ to spend lately, you are the only channel I found on youtube who reviewed the POPOLLER and Yuancon controller for Pop'N music, I have played pop'n music and IIDX using keyboard for a while and want a controller now, from watching your videos I get the impression that POPOLLER is better, however the cost is very expensive, if I purchase a POPOLLER with or without buttons I could not get the IIDX controller also. From your experience, is the benefits of POPOLLER really worth it over the Yuancon Pop'n controller for a first time controller player? Majority of people have claimed that the Yuancon is higher quality, and it is onsale now to purchase, but I am unsure from your videos and I think you are the only person to directly compare the two, so thank you if you choose to respond and help me!

      I think if you already know going to dedicate a lot of time to pop'n, then the popoller would be a good investment. Just don't drop it. I haven't heard of any issues of stuff failing on the popoller, but an LED did stop working on one of my buttons after loaning it to a friend (same thing happened to an LED on my old Dao, until I moved it to new buttons). However, if cost is an issue, then I think the Yuan would be okay if you don't care about looks and will upgrade parts in the future; there might be some drawbacks. The case seems fine and I don't think it'll fall apart. I'm not sure how sensitive you are about polling rates, but the Yuan's board is supposedly 250 Hz compared to the popoller's 1000 Hz. Another thing is that they only have 200g springs in the controller to keep the buttons from sticking, so you'd have to order some lighter ones yourself. I don't necessarily think Yuan's quality control is better; they seem to treat production of their pop'n controller 2nd rate compared to their other ones (SDVX, IIDX). I had some kind of blemish on the underlay of my controller upon arrival. Another issue I've seen, while very specific, is that someone couldn't map all the buttons on pop'n Lively in Keyboard mode and had different keys mapped than my controller (I could map keyboard mode in Lively just fine). I never heard that be resolved other than switching it into controller mode. So while it's a better value controller, the Yuan may have some technical quirks. I'd like to see an upgraded controller from them, but I highly doubt they'll do it. Hope this helps.

      @@anko.___ Thank you! After thinking about it, I realized I already play pop'n a-lot more than I do with IIDX, and also, the more varied style of pop'n gameplay with the spread out large keys seems more fun to me, so I'm going for just pop'n. I think its better if I dedicate my time to one game, at the moment POPOLLER actually seems like a much better deal when you include the samducks (e.g, a full pop'n set for the yuancon of samducks costs 250$ (because of shipping) ontop of the 250$ of the base controller (including shipping,) which really makes it 100$ more expensive than the POPOLLER with samducks and shipping, and generally I will most likely dedicate lots of time to Pop'n, so getting the bigger ASC with nice buttons is worth it for me. And judging by your other opinions, I bought myself a new 240Hz monitor recently, and so having that higher polling rate of around 1000Hz is more essential at 240Hz display. And the POPOLLER looking much better and being built better is a good benefit as well to me, as well no worries about technical errors such as the buttons mapping. Thank you, I will probably be getting my own POPOLLER this week! (nice gameplay too btw, maybe I will stop by again x3)

      Maybe; will depend on how I'm feeling. I usually keep Guide SE on to time better, but lately I've found the noises to be distracting.
