Here me out. After hearing FF9 motifs in the 2nd half of the msq: I realized another theme stuck in my head after hearing this non stop. FF9's A Place to Call Home. The main melody of this track sounds like its the same notes of that, the FFX's drums of Enemy Attack and the choir from FFXVI.

I think this track is kind of influenced by the danger tracks(?) from X-2 but the final boss of the dungeon is based on X's Enemy Attack

With the new mechanic and this sound it always gives me that feeling of being at the edge of lossing. Like to be fighting for your live. Love it 🙃😊

I don't know why you said final dungeon, this is the boss theme for every dungeon in dawntrail not just the final dungeon.

I love how this theme feels like it changes vibe as the expansion's plot develops. Spoilers: It turns from an upbeat adventuring theme into a cry of defiance and desperation through the mix of major and minor chords

I like this theme, it is melodic its insane, and epic motif, I think its great upgrade and I dont understand how they manage to keep such a blast of themes three expacs in row. (except Patch content EW final boss theme, that was, well, annoying) Completely fits the narrative, especially the shit that hits the fan later on

It seems like people are mixed on the mid-boss theme but one thing’s for sure - everyone loves this dungeon boss theme. Feels like a classic FF battle theme, like something out of VII or X

I really don’t understand the people in the comments who say this theme is terrible. It’s not as good as On Blade’s Edge, but it feels perfect for the theme of Dawntrail - a brand new call to adventure into uncharted territory. Upbeat, bombastic, with a heavy focus on orchestra like you’d hear in an action movie.

Its so different from EW’s dung themes. Lighter, more bouncy and adventurous. Love it.

Like with all the music, I expect to not be blown away by it until we hear it in context. I remember not being nearly as blown away by Insatiable or Triumph, until I fought the fight, and realized FFXIV's music is as intrinsic to the fight as the mechanics.

Is a mix between omnis lacrima from ffxv and assault from ffx, with a sprinkle of To Sail Forbidden Seas from FFXVI 😮

I really don't get the hate in comments over this theme, it fits the adventurous vibe the dlc is going for perfectly by focusing on a booming orchestra to make you feel like a hero facing a great foe. Aside from that it's just a really good theme anyway lmao.

I think a lot of people forget that its supposed to be a different feel. Its not trying to "be better" than anything.

well, last time someone ripped from media tour, it was also kinda bland. and then played the actual expansion and 2-3 notes were added to make it alot more dynamic. So we'll see I guess?

Those rhythmic strings at the start and the piano around a minute in make this sound more like Yoko Shimomura than Soken. Definitely get some KH vibes from this.
