I have a statue of Jesus on the cross hanged up in my bedroom. I need to know if this is a sin ?
Kellyn, having a crucifix is not a sin. But I would ask you why do you have it there. It obviously is a Catholic device to be a "help" for your faith - so they say. But this is not the kind of faith that God tells us to have. Israel was told in Exodus chapter 20, in the second commandment NOT to make images of anything FOR WORSHIP. Look it up. Pictures and such (plaques, video, etc.) of Jesus may be used to express the truth of God's Word, but they should never be used as a dispensing of God's grace (as Catholicism teaches). One should never use them as a "good luck charm" so to speak. That said, I would not have a crucifix on my wall but instead Scripture. Our faith should be established upon what God has told us. He has spoken to us through His Word - the Bible. John 1:1 "...the Word was God." I hope this was a help to you.
