@wyleeamme19 In another video, I made a blade for the forks, that is what I use now for the road. I didn't know about the ratchet rake...it looks like a cool implement, but I made the Jack attachment system so I could use it with my front mounted snow blower. Even though I tested that rake on the road, I clearly explained in the video that I made it to scrape the ice and pick out the rocks to prep my lawn area ahead of finishing it. Cheers!

@rockandrattleretreat5830 Hey Bud, We have plans for a pool kit that will dump the heat into a pool during the summer. Also, a damper kit will allow you to dump the heat outside. Off grid is even better since you tend to have a surplus of power during the summer due to more solar, just dump the surplus heat outside. Lots of people mine bitcoin on solar. The 14x80kW air handling units we have installed in Labrador dump the heat outside in the summer (which is like 4 weeks lol). We save our customers about 20k per month in heat and make about $100k/month.

You have 7200W so yeah you can run a heat pump on it but you might have to turn off something else. I use the phone app to monitor what stuff is drawing and turn on and off breaker to thing I want or don't want. Cheers!

This one is in an alcohol base and apparently sourced from Northern America, so fingers crossed, eh? It would be interesting if you have any theories on how MCS starts. I suspect it’s different for all.

@@anotherdroid493 The stuff in alcohol is pretty good and what I use when traveling to this day, there is also a version in hydro glycerine I use from www.appalachianchaga.com For me exposure to chemicals and a magnesium deficiency are likely the culprit. 50% of people with MCS have a magnesium deficiency so you should try some magnesium glycinate and see if that helps (and also vitamin B deficiency is common) . Also, diet is important stay away from artificial stuff! Let me know how you respond to the chaga! Cheers!

@@jackofallissue6661 So I got it wired as described above and all works great EXCEPT my AC will not start. It is strange because its like it doesnt even try. There are no warnings in the truck and when I watch the power draw it basically doesnt budge. If the AC draws too much power to start I would imagine I should get an error on the truck? I have ordered a soft start kit which will make the unit draw less on startup so hopefully that helps however l said if it was too much for the truck surely I should get an error when it tried to start. I did also try with all other circuits turned off to no avail. Open to any suggestions? Is there a place in the truck I can like look at logs or see if its even trying??

Thanks, I haven't had a chance to work on it since. My next step is to build a custom electric chainsaw for the mill, I find the bar is too small on that oregon electric saw, and it flexes too much, causing some inaccuracies.

I haven't played too much with the modes since it seems to default back to normal every time I start the truck. Haven't had a chance to research if there is a way to change the default mode.

Anything in the 10 l/100km range beats most mid size SUVs so your doing awesome considering those hills.

You mean my two buddies that bought the first year model? They both ended up getting new transmissions under warranty. I personally have not had any issues yet but I only have 20k on it over 2 years so it might be a while until I have issues or Ford fixed their issues with a software update, apparently it was related to the timing of the engagement of the electric motor and the engine to the transmission.

Thanks! I have several videos in editing backlog as I've been busy with really cool work projects I recently was awarded the patents for. I'm building a prototype for a home furnace that works off of high density computing. You can generate enough money from the computing to pay for the power consumed, so it's essentially free heat. I'll probably show it in a future video.

Thanks for sharing. Did you backfeed through an outlet? Sounds like you might have connected the neutral to a line somewhere... its easy to cross the wire in the plug, the ground is the long pin, the neutral is usually the color of silver metal and the two hots (also called lines) are brass color, they may also have markings on them like G (ground), N(neutral), X(line 1), Y(line 2). What you are describing necessarily has to include a short somewhere, I would call an electrician to troubleshoot your wiring. Something is not right... Cheers!

@@jackofallissue6661 Thanks for the reply, as most wouldn't take the time. I've quadruple checked everything - there is no way there is a short. I've checked all sources: - The 200amp breaker was 100% in the OFF position - The dryer plug - the outlet functions perfectly (I currently have, and have used since the incident, a 240v electric heater for our garage) - The cord - the cord was a brand-new-in-box L14-30 Generator Extension Cord from harbor freight. I cut the end off my-self, same day. - The plug - The plug is identical to the one you used in the video. All the hook ups were identical. I also checked the markings on the opposite side of the plug - wiring was correct. I also quadruple checked to make sure there were no dangling loose strands of wire that possibly could have been jumping from hot to ground/neutral/etc There is something else afoot here, I've narrowed it down to a couple possible things that could have happened (or both) - Potentially the power surge is what caused this to happen - I'm not sure that explains the loud hum and the electrical fire smell though. - Some if not most of the breakers that tripped were an AFCI breaker. Some electrician forums had posts about similar issues, and its possible that some AFCI breakers don't like to be back-fed. All off the electrical issues I had were centralized in my garage (different breakers). Electrical fire smell in the garage, treadmill in the garage and LED lights on the garage door opener dead as a doornail

@Shaun-xs4si I still recommend you get an electrician to troubleshoot your issue, there is definitely something shorting to ground, he'll need to do a bunch of resistance and voltage checks which as a professional engineer I can't recommend to someone who is not certified to do, it's a professional liability thing, sorry. Also, I don't recommend backfeeding your panel through a plug, you should invest in a genlink or something similar. Cheers!

Hey Jack... power went out last week. Fired up the Ford power boost with my generlink. Cut off the ground on the generlink plug and ran the house. I was the only house on the block with lights. The entire neighborhood was out in darkness and the power boost came thru. I shut off the main house AIr conditioner and the pool pump. Everything else was on. The wife even cooked chicken wings in the big electric oven! Lol thanks for your help. Also, the new ford app sucks, they dropped the power boost generator monitoring! Sucks

Hi Andrew, We are still eating them now. That was the most successful vegetable trials for us ever. I'm growing 12 potatoes this year as I want to try them outside my fence. I keep the pot on to prevent ashes from falling in the pot. There is a slide built into the rack for the pot, I just slide the pot, dump in wood, and slide it back. I think I explain it in the video.

It's electric...that was the whole point of how impressive the power boost is. It can easily run the oven!

I cooked chicken wings in a full sized electric wall oven. At the same time I had multiple house lights and 3 fridges on. The unit tripped when my furnace fan kicked on. After I turned off the fan we reset the truck, turned the oven back on and enjoyed our chicken wings!

Well, I have a wood stove, so I don't have a heating issues ever. It depends on what kind of furnace you have. If it's oil or natural gas, then you need very little power, so yeah. If you have electric baseboard heat, then you'll need to only turn on one heater at a time. If you have an electric furnace then your best to turn it off and run a couple smaller space heaters during the outage, you only have 30A@240V to work with, so if you manage it properly, you can keep most homes from freezing. The main issue with really cold weather is that heat pumps don't work efficiently so you need old fashion resistance heating or a fuel source. Cheers!

You must drive very slow on the highway. Owned the 5.0 for 5 years. But you are correct, I wouldn't own my powerboost with out a warranty, got the 10 yr 100k bumper to bumper warranty for 2400 bucks. Any new vehicle these days should have it imo.

Your milage is similar to my powerboost in the winter. The milage benefit of the powerboost is when driving on rural roads where it probably does twice the milage your truck does. The built-in generator of the powerboost ( to power my whole house during a power outage) is the most valuable feature of the truck period. Just that feature alone makes it worthwhile, but I agree on the reliability point and recommend extended warranty even though I have had no issues to date.

Because your neutral is grounded at the truck and at the panel, it serves as your ground and neutral conductor at the same time. Connecting the ground is essentially another neutral in parallel in that specific example. Since your truck is on rubber tires, it's essentially insulated from the ground so the ground wire to the truck serves no purpose. Cheers!

They seem pretty easy to cure, I just put mine in paper bags in a warm place, and they are delicious.

@@jackofallissue6661 I tried paper bags too, but the result wasn't as good. Probably because I'm in a cool Northern climate but hadn't started heating the house yet, so the plastic was helpful for boosting the heat and humidity.

@Cici1791 Thanks for the confirmation, I was afraid the plastic and humidity might make them mold... I had mine moist in a cool place for a couple weeks and then dry in the paper bag in a warm place and they came out delicious. Doesn't seem to be much of a science, everyone has different techniques for curing. Cheers!

@@jackofallissue6661 Oops, minor yet major detail I forgot to mention: my plastic boxes did have holes in them (big, upcycled Costco produce containers). And yes, the best option is the one that works for you... because homegrown sweet potatoes are so much better than they shop-bought variety, at least in my jurisdiction. Firmer, fresher and way tastier!
