    When growing two or more varieties within sight of eachother you will get cross pollination and thus hybrid of at least two varieties. Corn is as you know wind pollinated so this is why commercial farms grow one variety or another at same time. Or you can grow one variety at one time then another so the two are less likely to synchronize tasseling. An example if you say grow a Sweet Yellow and a Hopi Blue variety you get a cob of yellow corn with blue checkerboard pattern. This happened to me. Now I just grow one variety at a time.

    I've been using all kinds of methods of cooking rice, including rice cookers, but nothing beats the micro when operated properly. It is the same method for Jasmin and Basmati. Here's my two-minute (work time) method: One minute in the morning: Add 200 ml water and 100 ml rice to a microwave-safe (DUH) bowl. Stir to avoid lumps. Leave to rehydrate. One minute in the afternoon: Stir again. Put a loose lid on the bowl -- I use a plate. Set the micro to 300 W and 12 minutes. Set another timer to 30 minutes. Start and leave it. After 30 minutes, open the micro (not until then!) and fluff it up with a fork. Now you have the perfect rice every time. It passes the sushi test: form a ball that holds together but separates with the touch of a fork. (From my upcoming cookbook Micro Like A Pro 🙂 )

    • @bfelten1
      @bfelten1 Před 4 dny

      I might add that since the rice never reaches boiling, it just slowly rises to the desired 92°C, most of the aromatics stay in the rice. You can actually taste the difference between jasmine and basmati. That heavenly smell from your cooking is the aromatics that leave the dish when heated too high. This is good for the cook but not so good for the dinner guests.

    Theres a lot of asian recipes for rice cookers that are amazing. Stuff like bibimbap is super quick and easy. If you are lazy like me washing rice in warm water and filling it with warm water cleans it and starts it cooking faster. Subbed for the kratky content and now its rice cooker content lol.

    What’s actually happening in front of your eyes is it pulls a vacuum on the chamber and whatever you put inside, removing all the air and then sealing the bag and when the machine opens atmospheric pressure the weight of all of the air that’s on the planet stacked all the way up as high as exist inside our atmosphere that weight is 14 point I think it’s 75 pounds per square inch which is what’s pressing in on your body since you were born and essentially that’s what’s holding your insides inside for that atmosphere pressure your insides would come outside and 30 inches of mercury a vacuum is unattainable. The closest we can get is 29.92😃😃 Just a little something to make your hair hurt ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥🇺🇸

    It very well could had been that your tomato plant in your hydro system was still putting out roots to fill the bucket before putting out flowers. Lots of times plants will put all their energy into the roots and leaves first before putting their energy into flowering. Maybe try smaller DWC buckets to get faster flowering?
