The only other car on the road was a plain police car. I lost my licence for a while. Ooops! That was back in the 80's. I'm a little wiser now 🙂

Its illegal to smoke in a company registered vehicle, even if its only you in your own truck. Each council area you travel through while smoking has the right to issue you a £75 fine.

@@TRUCKERJOES Nope, if its registered to a business, even if its only the owner that goes anywhere near it. it is illegal in the UK to smoke in that vehicle. One of the nanny state rules to put their hands deeper into your pocket. Two lads outside the tarmac yard last year got stung, the council official stated "its obviously a working vehicle so it must be involved in a business contract", its a bit hard to deny it with 3 tonnes of asphalt on the back so they issued the fine right there, then the other bloke spoke up and fined them both for flicking their ciggy stumps out the window. both with two £75 fines each. They only earned £120 a day so both were £30 down before they even got started This is why I looked up the specific law. I stopped smoking outside the cemex plant.
