Klx110 143cc big bore air box mod, jetting, final assembly, and wheelies!
I show you how to mod the stock air box to flow enough air for the 143cc big bore kit, and use the stock carburetor. This 110 has been ported, installed a performance cam, and full exhaust. After all that I get the jetting right and give it the revs! One baddass pit bike build, I wish it was mine.

How to torque down those yz250f torque to yield head bolts.

Here is the complicated and confusing torquing procedure for 2019-2021 YZ250F’s. Probably other years too, all I know is for this bike I’m building two engines, one is a 2019 and the other is a 2021. Using an iPhone compass to set the degrees was not my idea, i can’t take credit for it. Like and subscribe, check my linktree for links with discounts. linktr.ee/onlycarbz 👊🏼✊🏼
Yz250f cylinder head service.

Every time I rebuild a 4 stroke motocross bike, this is how I service the head. All the carbon is removed from the cylinder head and valves. In this video I show my process of cleaning the valves, and also share some full proof help tips to never be confused. I’ve rebuilt 100s of engines and learned from some of the best techs in the business, and I’m sharing my processes and what I’ve learned....

This is the best fork rebuilding video i have ever seen great job
@@jonaschristoffersen4114 thanks man I appreciate the positive feedback… when I have to do some different styles I’m make more videos. 👊🏼✊🏼
Start them young
Just accept that a jizz of mayo is required for the recipe. 😂
what main jet are you running?
How did you get your shift star on at all?
That's not the way the shift drum goes in ?
Why wont my kx250 shift into second the shift arm that the shifter goes on doesn't even sit on the star wheel to click it into second gear it's way to short
You have a slowed down video of cam install on klx
What exactly does this do? Like why is the quarter of an inch space from putting the wrench in there make a difference?
What boots do you have? Bike is turning out great.
Those are Thor 50/50 boots. They don’t make them anymore but I believe alpinestars makes some similar these days
@chrisfayling Thanks, I've been riding with some vans for hiking/mountain biking, but the ankle is exposed, so I'm looking for something better without running a full boot.
@@MartinRacingChannel yea man they are perfect pit bike boots. You’re right full boots are too much for the pitters.
Where did you get that valve tool like it 🤔
It’s a motion pro set, you can get em anywhere that sells motion pro 👊🏼✊🏼
What you set the valves at?
I'm curious about how much power could be gained by porting the cylinder and a bigger cam?
Definitely noticeable. My personal klx110 is stock bore just ported and I can feel the difference. After building this engine I’m gonna be putting the same cam in mine. You can physically see the difference in the cam profile. The power gain from the cam is mostly noticed from the mid to high rpm range.
@chrisfayling sweet! You talked me into it so I'll be doing the same 😃
@@arboristlife3494 awesome man enjoy! I also have BBR exhaust, and a modded air box. With all that you might have to mess with the jetting. Also when your porting match the ports to the intake and you’re exhaust header, take the intake to an 80 grit finish, and you can leave the exhaust port there or go crazy and polish it. Good luck, and comment back your results 👊🏼✊🏼
@@chrisfayling last night I opened up the factory exhaust like in your video and it made a huge difference I have to say I was quite surprised. Thanks again man!
@@arboristlife3494 awesome 👊🏼✊🏼
Snapped mine bolt stayed inside.
Chain adjuster Bolt snapped inside my swing arm. Now I'm buying another swing arm. That was build by dealer never messed with it.
I’ve gotten them out before… I would at least try before I bought a new swingarm
Great video
Thank you for the good video. Well done!

i about fell off my rocker when you said it was painted with a mop... im restoring a 92 with the same forks right now lol
One of my favorite sayings lol. Good luck man, I love them blue forks
Can you do a cam install for klx please?
Just take the rockers out and it slips right in, and re install the rockers. 👊🏼✊🏼
Great tips...lets hope i dint fuck my 95 up
Thanks man, I’ve got some other tip I forgot to include next fork job I do I’ll make another video. 👊🏼✊🏼

Super helpful, thanks! What are you using to attach the phone to the ratchet?

I only can read English, and don’t know what this says…
Bank 2 on the front bank 1 on the back
Yep, then you put the right intake where the right was, and they don’t hold any compression… if it came from that port it need to go back there, they wear together.
Great tips😊
Thanks man. It’s something I made up that’s helped me over the years 👊🏼✊🏼
can i port my apollo rfz 125cc?
Absolutely! I imagine it has a very similar head to this klx.
@@chrisfayling Thanx amma try 😭
@@manda_268 awesome follow what I said in the video about port matching, make sure the intake side is at least 80 grit roughness. And any other questions feel free to ask

Wait….. why is the axle block facing up 😳😳😳
Hahaha it is! I don’t have a good answer for that. That is simply how the bike got dropped off… let’s put it this way, it was brought to me after the last guy rebuilt it and it blew up after 5 hours.

Hey bud just a friendly tip: those calipers dont stay accurate. Ive got a few pairs for quick estimates but they will read usually around 1-3mm off around anything above 10mm. If you grab a better pair advertised as scientific tools they are so much more help when they are dead on
I mean it’s a blue point set of calipers, on the snap-on truck. I have shims for adjusting valves which are a good way to check because they’re thickness is static, and they measure right on the money.
Lol was it really that hard?
No, not at all just was funny. So I took a Sec to laugh at myself
That boy is awesome. Reminds me of when I work on bikes with my kids.
I love hanging with my little man, teaching him things and watching him get his hands dirty. Keep working with you’re kids o never regret it even thought I definitely don’t get as much done lol
my klx has been being a pain in the ass the threads where the oil filter were stripped and itd leak from oil filter like straight piss from it so i helicoiled them so their nice and snug still oil leakage just not as much ive changed the o ring too what do u suggest i do
Man I would think it wouldn’t leak after that… are the heli coils in all the way? And how do the sealing surfaces look?
Did you put any WD40 in there
I sprayed pb blaster on the nut, and all the pivot points about a half hour before filming this. I always do with swim arm pivot bolts
@@chrisfayling wow that crazy tight
@@OwenWare413 I was waiting for it to bust loose all quick and smash my hands on the lift 🤣
Imagine if the fastener was a left hand thread
Thought it was for a min lol
Put that tap on an impact, faster
I like to feel it, and also I work it back and forth as I’m going in, helps make nice threads
Does the hole for the insert have to be a tad bigger so that that insert fits?
Yea the heli coil kit comes with the correct size drill bit and tap for the insert. 👊🏼✊🏼
You threaded a hole, to put a piece of threading into the threaded hole, to put a bolt into the piece of threading into the aforementioned threaded hole. Marvelous work.
So you can use the factory fastener again. I hate mismatched bolts
How bout that God awful weld?
@@bobmonkeyballs4157 that’s how they do it in Japan… that’s straight from Kawasaki
'PromoSM'
Water wouldn’t work?
Actually yes but will cause rust same as brake cleaner which will also dry out seals and make them no good also ! Just use wd40 it's better for seals and won't dry our the seals like brake cleaner and adds a protective coating to prevent from future rust
Brake cleaner is way thinner than water… that’s why brake cleaner is used. 👊🏼✊🏼
@@larryw866 I don’t get any up to the seal and I coat the valve with Molly paste and oil, and also grease the lips of the seal before I install the valve… Water or wd40 are thicker than brake cleaner. Brake cleaner is thinner than gas and would seep through the smallest of imperfections in the two sealing surfaces. That’s why it’s used over other liquids.
@@chrisfayling 🤣 wd40 will seep through a lot better
And Molly paste and oil is no match to brake cleaner
Yep! I was rebuilding my dirtbike and when I was about to give it a start is started dripping gas from the fuel line seat to the carburator.
Sometimes that happens, the needle valve gets stuck. Before you take it off try tapping the float bowl with a screwdriver handle, or take the fuel line off and blow compressed air through the fuel line that goes to the carb. It will blow blow all the fuel out through the vents and overflow, so west safety glasses.
@@chrisfayling yeah. I fixed that issue.
Building a 92 rm250 some one thought it was a 99 order wrong piston effd up the cylinder. Got everything but power valve rod bushings and piston. Excited waiting.
Let me know how it goes man! Always hard waiting for parts
Is the sprocket and chain hardened steel
To get a good result you should keep in mind that the diameter of the intake Port should not exceed 90% of the valve diameter. The majority of the gas volume will go the way along the long radius of the channel. In practice 70% go this way and only 30% go along the short radius of the channel. When you just make it bigger you remove material and you increase the port volume. This can have a negative effect because it slow down the speed of the airflow. From the diameter of the carburetor to the intake valve the channel should go smaller by 2% of slope. In the curve to the valve bowle widen the port a little around the valve shaft and make the stem more aerodynamic. The 5mm from the valve seat is quite important make it nice and smooth. The same in the combustion chamber, smooth all edges with 240 grid sand paper. For the intake port use 80 grid, exhaust port 120 grid or tape the valve seats for protection and use a sandblaster gun. The surface in the channels work best when the have a little roughness. Also measure the lift of your cam. As a rule of thumb a good lift is calculated by intake valve diameter divided by 4.
Great information! Thanks man, there is not a lot of information on this. It’s all secrets. I’ve learned of the years just work of mouth and playing around with different heads. Eric Gorr has some books out that I have that talk about specific bikes and different ways to port them, but it’s good to know th general rules of thumb. I always take my intake to 80 grit, and I knew to of course make sure just past the seat to be smooth, but you taught me somethings. 👊🏼✊🏼
Where do u get all this info from ? Can u help me with some references ? I’m about a lil over a year building 4 stroke engines and dragging mini bikes . I know about smoothing out the corners on the intake but would like to know where else on these heads can I improve on . Pics and vid’s would be great .
Also is rougher then 80 grit ok?
@@Greybuiltracing most the knowledge I have is from the old techs at the dealership. Look up Eric Gorr, he has some books out. Unfortunately there isn’t a lot of information out there on this stuff, lots of secrets.
@@Greybuiltracing tougher than 80 grit would be fine, look at how rough it is from the factory
Great idea 👍
Great idea 👍
This is not meant to be cheap, i always replace gaskets on a rebuild. This helps if the engine is installed in the chassis and the sealing surface is vertical, it helps the gasket not stick after being torqued down. It saves time on scrapping gaskets. And just for the chance you have to take a cover off and you don’t have a gasket on hand, you can put it back on to get by and your weekend is not ruined. 👊🏼✊🏼
Make sure to get his eyes lined right up with that spring!
I like you concern, but the way the spring hooked on there on the bottom it would be impossible for it to fly off if it slipped.
12 point socket, extension, impact wrench. Just feather the trigger if you're chasing the threads. If you're cutting new threads, feather the trigger a lot, lol.
Throttle control is key here lol
