I've read this on the internet that you should NOT touch coins because your fingerprint can corrode the surface, so I took a brand new 1 cent coin, taped one half of it and I touched it every day for two months, and it's true, the non taped half corroded just because of my fingerprints, so you really shouldn't touch coins. (I've placed a control coin next to it to check if it gets corroded by the air, but no, all corrosion was caused by my fingerprints.)

Don't sell it to the bank.... I can tell you all right now they was trying to rip you off.... Gold and silver is manipulated bad. At this moment in time here in the USA it's $1,680 per Troy oz... it used to be $2,000 a oz but it dropped because of the economy and inflation ect.. now silver is worth so much more than the current spot price. Now if the US dollar was pegged to gold still today the gold price per Troy oz would be $34,000 per oz.. silver would be $4,000 per oz...... so yeah lol a bunch of ppl at the big bank here in the USA called JP Morgan they went to jail / Prison for legitimately manipulation of silver prices deliberately keeping it down... and because of the craziness in the world today with my country and your country and nato and China and Ukraine. The world economy is going to hell.. and if our two countries do something crazy and start launching nukes or go to war like a bunch of ignorant fools the economies will go down badly.. and our currencies will be effected bad.. so I highly suggest stacking silver and gold as much as you can get ahold of.. look idc what your government says about how much your able to have or not and idc what mine says ect atm they don't care how much we have. But with all that's going on Def get as much as you can when you can afford it.. and protect yourself with it.. because God forbid our leaders do something incredibly dumb and destroy the world fighting silver n gold will be the only money you can use.. and it'll become so much more valuable. 1oz of silver could buy you land ect.. so it's very important and I hope you held on to that coin it looks awesome. And you know if you want your money back plus interest you need to sell it online. If you sell it to a American coin collector which don't see many cool Russian coins you may get more than just the gold value back. Because not gonna lie it's a net looking coin

Gold is naturally mixed with copper. You have to refine gold to reduce copper to .001 composition leaving you with .999 gold. During processing, the .001 copper sits on top of the liquid and as they pour it the copper gets onto a few of the pieces of metal. As copper oxides, it becomes Cu2O which is red. Heating the gold with a butane lighter will release the oxygen and the red will disappear. If it oxidizes again the red stain will reappear. Oil coating from people handling the coin in the past protected the coin from getting red spots. Putting them in capsules made these coins free of the oils and hence the copper would oxidize and stain the coin. It's not a defect but gold refiners who do not use the top part of the hot liquid gold pour where the copper is floating have fixed this issue.

Gold doesn't rust. Get your coin in a machine and get it tested. Coin shops have equipment to test coins or jewelry in general. I hope your problem sorts out in the end.

It is better to touch your coin than use PVC plastic :-)
