I have been mixing Tree fern with Molly’s Aroid Mix now for awhile and my plants love it. The no drainage is not for me, and I do worry about you using tree fern with no drainage. Either way though good luck!

I don't know why people spend on tree fern, tbh. With many plants you are going to be repotting at least once per year and that is a lot of money to throw out (assuming you will be changing all the media). For me, I use coconut husk chips mixed with perlite and charcoal. Cost wise, the chips are around $30 for 30 liters and at that price it doesn't matter if I change it annually (I usually don't do a full media change every time as the chips are still good up to two years). The only drawback is that they do require advanced preparation, rather than being ready to go, but it is an easy process, I think the trade off is worth it.

I use the reptibark too, I just bought some big box orchid bark and its garbage, I will use it anyway for less fussy plants but you can get better stuff just stealing mulch from your neighbor's yard, its really that bad, looks like its just been weathering in the bag for a couple years.

how does the no drainage pot work. would it not collect water like a nice tea cup?

Surprisingly Micans I have too is one of my least fav philos. I think it’s overrated as opposed to underrated because the plant community generally loves it and recommend it as a starter. But in reality unless you get it from a nursery with great leaves and probably hormones or additives from the nursery to start with for nice size leaves, it looks always messy when grown at home

The billietiae and atabapoense grows the same style. If you hate the billietiae growth style you wouldn’t like the agabapoense, it’s even more gangly and Internodal space (at least what I’ve heard)

I don’t think your set up has anything wrong it’s just that if you change medium from a plant that’s not in that type of medium the plant was in like soil you always run the risk of rot. So if you put 100% pon vs what you’re doing now with leca layering won’t have much difference but just run the risk of disturb the plant again. If it’s happy there keep it there. Maybe put some enzymatic formula to prevent root rot

Do not replant the heart leaf in tree fern it won’t like it and it will get root keep it in a well draining soil

Is BVEP currently sought after and the price rising ?

I wouldn't take off that damaged leaf on the AOS dark yet. It is ugly, yes, but it is still fully functional and the plant will grow faster the more leaves it has available to photosynthesize. If it doesn't senesce on its own, then take it off after the next new leaf (so that it has two). My personal preference is to have a minimum of 4 leaves on a plant (although I admittedly have one that refuses to hold more than two leaves).

Very cool get with the peltigerum, I've had my eye on that one for a while. I just ordered three new plants from Indonesia, they won't arrive for a month. Nothing especially exciting, a clarinervium variant (only primary veining), a crystallinum variant (extra veining) and a forgetii variant (dark and only primary veining). I definitely did not need more but the one luxury of living in a tropical/sub-tropical climate is plants that I get bored with or hate (or just get too huge - ahem Anthurium decipiens) can be put outside to grow.
