Welcome to KNIPEX! Our story began over 140 years ago in a little forge - today we are still an independent, family-owned company. About 1,500 employees develop and manufacture daily over 45,000 pairs of pliers at our site in Wuppertal-Cronenberg, Germany. They are then distributed, via a network of subsidiaries, representatives and importers, to our customers in over 100 countries. Every new product and every improvement are thought through to the tiniest detail and trialed in tough load and endurance test, before we release them into the hands of our users.

You think you've seen it all when it comes to pliers? You're wrong: The new KNIPEX StepCut® XL can do more than you would expect from ‘normal’ cable shears of this size.
So what can it do? It cuts cables that take unnecessarily long to cut with ratchet cable cutters but are too difficult to cut with smaller single-handed cable shears: like NYM-J 5x6 mm² (or NM-B 10/4), or stranded single conductors made of copper or aluminum up to 70 mm² (AWG 2/0) - with one or both hands, depending on your own strength.
Also note the cutting edge geometry. This is designed so that small and large cables are always cut as close as possible to the joint and therefore as easily as possible.
And the front area is a new type of ‘nibbling point’ for cable cutters. You can use it to ‘nibble’ your way through cables of almost any size piece by piece; similar to a sheet metal nibbler, but for electrical conductors (without steel reinforcement).
Also cool: You can use it to cut smaller cables such as NYM-J 3x1.5 very quickly in one go - without having to open the pliers wide to insert them.

I prefer the twistor 16. One of my favorite tools. Perfect every time!
Love your tools but please offer a chrome plated option for us trades guys who work outside...mine are showing rust from working on machinery in the rain and snow...premium chrome plated with soft grips tool option please

You need to come out with a new line of screwdrivers. Wiha has everything multi drivers, beaters, torque screwdrivers, all kinds of strate blade screwdriver. And they are slimline. I am a huge knipex fan but I use wiha for screwdrivers. I wish I could use knipex instead!!!
