Because nobody has ever heard of them.
Megadeth, Exodus, Testament, and...tough call...for the real Big Four.
Sepultura! 🤘
I am playing Skolnicks anti-Trump rap right now.
Who gives a shit who’s “part of the big 4” 😂 People are so basic.
Back in the 80s and early 90s I never lumped metal bands into “the Big Four”… by the time people started saying that all the time metal music started to go south.
Megadeth & *ESPECIALLY* Anthrax (whose side project was more popular than them at the time) shouldn't even be part of the "big 4" It should be Motorhead, Venom, Metallica & Slayer.
sLayer rhymes with GAYER. TESTAMENT SUPERGROUP.
I understand about seniority but Testament was greater than most of big 4
You can put their first two albums up against any of the big four, they hold up and are definitely classics.
Their songs are not as good as the big 4. simple as.
Pretty much this. They aren't as good. Haven't sold anywhere near as many records. The only band of the 2nd waver that would be worthy of adding and making a Big 5 would be Pantera.
Alex Skolnick is a leftist DB. The big 4 wants no part of that political BS. Stick to playing guitar
I was introduced to Testament and Heathen at the same time and both were recorded on a tape, I instantly went out and bought both copies. I loved both of these thrash bands!!
In my opinion the big four would be 1. Metallica 2. Megadeth 3. Testament 4. Slayer ( i dont like slayer and Megadeth)
For me, Megadeth, Overkill, Slayer, Exodus. Mext Metallica, testament, metal Church, death Angel.
I like your interview style and your studio environment. Have you ever considered bringing King Fowley and Deceased in for an interview? I would love to see that.
I was a Sammy fan before I was a Van Halen fan.
I like anthrax But they could get removed off that list for any other band
for exodus
Skullcrusher"
I was gonna say because their original drummer was terrible but then I remembered about Metallica.
Let me answer this before seeing this video: the time If they were around in the early 80s and had an album or two and kept going they could have been big. This is the ONLY reason Anthrax is part of the big 4.
This is my first time watching this, hearing Alex say "He seems to be doing much better now" while referring to EVH really hurt my soul.
Testament, Exodus...... there better than Anthrax. I think what it is is if you didnt put ONE East Coast bands in there it might have looked like a Slight to the East coast scene, so.......
Great guitar player, learned a lot from his columns in guitar magazines.
Alternate big four: Overkill,Testament, Exodus,Pantera
My first ever heavy metal band tshirt was Testament Souls of Black and oh boy did my mom hated it
Big 4 met slayer mega n prist
It would be called the Big 5
I used to tell friends "Testament is what Metallica would be, if Metallica had real talent"!
1. Death 2. Sepultura 3. Slayer 4. Megadeth 5. Anthrax 6. Testament 7. Metallica 8. Exodus 9. Kreator 10. S.O.D. I have spoken
As far as MY big four - Megadeth, Metallica, Exodus, Testament. Exodus and Testament were bigger to me guitar wise any way.
Of the big 4. Who has a better guitarist than Alex? Maybe Friedman?
Testament was just not good enough to be part of the Big 4. But, if Testament were any other way, they would not be Testament.
True Story: I'm at the San Francisco show of the Anthrax/Testament co-headlining tour in 2011. It went Death Angel opening, then Testament, then Anthrax to close it out. I got there just as Death Angel were finishing their set and they were moshing. BUT, Testament blew everyone out of the water that night. It was almost like it was a vendetta to show the east coast thrash bands you've got nothing on the Bay Area thrash metal scene. Anthrax put together a bad set-list of their hits. Testament was playing deep cuts. They started the show with "The Preacher" and ended with "Disciples of the Watch". Everyone was exhausted. Even the people in the circle pits were. Anthrax gets on and the crowd isn't into the songs as much as he thinks they should be. Scott Ian notices this and said something like "What the fuck SF? Come on, where's the Bay Area thrashers at?" Alot of us hoped that Anthrax would include more stuff from their first 3 records instead of the 90s stuff. Luckily for them, Kirk Hammett came to the show that night and jammed with them on a few songs which was the only real highlight. TESTAMENT showed Anthrax what THRASH sounds like from start to finish. And in my opinion, they are worthy of the spot that Anthrax has taken in the Big Four.
The lack of songs . Slayer killer songs Megadeth killers songs pick a album . Metallica song after fucking song . Anyone trying to include themselves is probably assuming more about themselves than they should be . Exodus and Testament are both great but that's just asking to much .
Testament should have been part of the big 4
Hanneman, King, Araya, Lombardo = 'The Big Four'.
Most underrated band ever there awesome alex is my favorite guitarist
remove anthrax from the big four and install Testament. Testament a much better Metal band
I'll take Testament over Anthrax every day of the week!
Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Testament!!!
كلمة عربي و٢٠ كلمة انجليزي اوعى تحكو لغتكن الام !!!
Testament > everyone on the big four , Testament is in a league of their own they are a super group the greatest thrash band of all time Metallica wishes they were half the band testament is
Anthrax had some mainstream success because of Public Enemy, and appeared on Married with Children, and people liked their Logo. I'm sure there are people out there that do prefer Anthrax to Testament, but I don't get it, nor do I care that they released records later on. Anthrax's albums just don't hold up to Testament's. They just didn't get he mainstream notoriety.

#BaselMeetsMetallica seems like it was a few years ago.
I jam 1st to songs of On Souls of black album al.ost every morning driving to work...then it goes to OVERKILL ,I hate, elimination, time to kill...
Testament wasn’t Big 4 material in the late 80’s; BUT, over the totality of the respective catalogs: they outclassed at least 2 of the Big 4. Maybe more.
Testament is insanely good
Not to mention, Testament had no hit song or any recognized sound. The Bass on Practice what you Preach was a step in the right direction but they changed it. Boo
